Chapter 1

And it happened on the 16th day of the third month in the first year of exodus (of the children of Israel out of Egypt, God spoke to Moses saying: - Go up to Me on the mount and I will give you the law and the commandment that I wrote on two stone tablets so that you teach them.
And Moses went up on the mount of God and the glory of the Lord stood on Mount Sinai and a cloud covered him 6 days and from the top of the mount on the 7th day He called Moses from the middle of the cloud and the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a flame of fire.
And Moses was on the mount 40 days and 40 nights and God taught him the partition of all the dates of the law and testimony, the most advanced and the most remote history, and He said: - Incline your heart to every word that I will tell you on this mount and write them in a book on Mount Sinai this day so that their descendants may see how I have not abandoned them despite all the evil they have done in breaking the covenant that J I have established between Me and you for their descendants. When all these things fall on them, they will recognize that I am more righteous than they in all their judgments and actions, and they will recognize that I have been true to them.
Write for you all these words that I declare to you this day, for I know their rebellion and stiff neck long before I bring them into the land that I swore to their fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying - I will give your seed a land overflowing with milk and honey and they will eat and be satisfied and turn to strange gods, [gods] who can not free them from the chaos of their affliction. And this testimony will be heard as a testimony against them, because they will forget all my orders, all that I have commanded them and they will walk according to the Gentiles and according to their impurity and according to their immorality and will serve their gods and this will be a fault and anguish and a pain and a trap for them, and many will die and be taken captive and they will fall into the hands of the enemy because they will have forsaken My ordinances, My commandments and the feasts of My covenant, My rest, and My sacred house which I dedicated to myself in their midst, and My tabernacle and My sanctuary, which I had dedicated to the center of the land, so that I could place My name there and [there] lives. And they will make high houses and parks and statues and venerate each his own and so go astray, and they will sacrifice their children to the demons and all processions of their wrong hearts.
And I will send them witnesses to testify against them, but they will not hear and kill the witness, and will persecute those who seek the law; and they will abolish and change all things to do evil before My eyes. But I will hide My face from them, and will pull them out of the midst of the land, and scatter them among the heathen, and deliver them into the hand of the heathen in captivity, and prey to devour; and they will forget all My law, all My commandments and judgments concerning the new moons, the rest, the feasts, the jubilees, and the ordinances, and they will go astray. And after that they will turn to Me from among the Gentiles with all their heart, soul, and strength, and I will gather them from among all the Gentiles and they will seek me until I am found of them, when they are Me. will seek with all their heart and with all their soul. Then I will reveal to them an overflowing peace of justice, and of all My heart and all my soul I will remove from them the seed of injustice and they will be in blessing and not in curse. They will be the head and not the tail and I will build My sanctuary within them and I will live with them and I will be their God and they will be My people in truth and justice and I will not abandon them or fail them because I am the Lord their God.
And Moses fell on his face and prayed and said: - O Lord my God, do not let your people and your inheritance thus wander in the error of their hearts and not yield them to the hands of the pagans, their enemies, so that they subjugate them and make them sin against you. May your Lord be built on your people and create in them a righteous spirit and let the spirit of beliar subjugate and blame them before you and block them from the path of righteousness so that they will succumb before your face. But they are your people and your inheritance which You delivered from the hands of the Egyptians by a powerful power; create in them a clean heart and a sacred spirit and do not let them become stuck in their sins right now and up to eternity.
And the Lord said to Moses, "I know the frustration of their thoughts and stiff necks, and they will not be obedient until they confess their own sin and the sin of their fathers, and after that they will turn to I, fully of integrity, with all their hearts and souls, and I will circumcise the foreskin of their heart and the foreskin of the heart of their seed, and I will create in them a sacred spirit and I will wash them to do not turn from Me from this day to eternity. And their souls will cling to Me and all My commandments and they will fulfill My commandments and I will be their Father and they will be My children and they will be called children of the living God and every angel and every spirit will know: Yes! They will know that they are My children and that I am their Father in integrity and righteousness, and that I love them.
And you will write for yourself the first and last of these words that I declare to you on this mount which will be realized in all the partitions of the dates of the law and the testimony in the weeks and the jubilees, for the eternity, until what I go down and live with them for eternity.
And He said to the angel of presence: - Write for Moses from the beginning of Genesis until My sanctuary will be built for all eternity among them and the Lord will appear to everyone and everyone will know that I am the God of Israel and the Father of all the children of Jacob and King of Mount Zion for all eternity. And Zion and Jerusalem will be sacred.
And the angel of the presence that went before the camp of Israel took tables of the law and testimony - the partitions of the years from the time of the genesis - the weeks of the jubilees according to the individual years and according to the number of the jubilees together - until the day of the [new] genesis when the heavens and the earth and their genesis will be together again according to the powers of heaven and according to the foundation of the whole earth, until the sanctuary of the Lord is realized in Jerusalem at Mount Zion and let all the lights renew healing, peace and blessing for all of Israel's elite, and so be it from this day and forever on the earth.

Chapter 2

1 • The creation days 1 to 7

And the angel of the presence spoke to Moses according to the word of the Lord saying: - Write the full story of Genesis, how in 6 days the Lord God completed all His works and all that He had created and kept the rest on the seventh day that He consecrated on all ages and chose Him as a sign on all His labors.

For on the first day He created the heavens above and the earth and the waters and all the spirits that serve Him: the angels of the presence and the angels of sanctification and the angels of the spirit of the winds and the angel of the spirit of the clouds, of darkness, of snow, of hail, and frozen crystal, and the angels of the voices of thunder and lightning, and the angels of the spirits of cold, hot, spring, autumn, summer, and all the spirits of His creatures who are in heaven and on earth; [He created] the abyss and darkness, twilight [and night] and the light, dawn and day that He had prepared in the knowledge of His heart. And then we saw His labors and praised Him and glorified Him in His work, for 7 great works had He created on the first day.

On the second day He created the firmament in the midst of the waters, and the waters were divided that day, a half went on and the other half went under the firmament [which was] in the middle, on the surface of the whole earth. And this is the only work created [by God] on the 2nd day.

And on the third day He commanded the waters to converge on the surface of all the earth to one place and that the dry land appears. And the waters did as He commanded them, and converged on the face of the earth to one place outside this firmament, and the dry land appeared. And on that day He created for them all waters according to their separate places of assembly and all the rivers and assemblies of waters in the mountains, and over all the earth and all the lakes and all the dew of the earth, the seed which is sown and all things sprouting and the fruiting trees and the trees of the forest and the Garden of Eden in Eden in full. God created these four great works on the third day.

And on the fourth day he created the sun and the moon and the stars and placed them in the firmament of the sky to give light on the whole earth and to dominate over the day and the night and to separate the light from the darkness. And God will appoint the sun to be a great sign on the days on the earth and for the rest and for the months and for the holidays and for the years and for the rest of the years and for the jubilees and for all the seasons of the years. And it divides the light of darkness for prosperity so that all things that grow on earth prosper and grow. He created these 3 classes on the 4th day.

And on the fifth day He created the great aquatic monsters in the depths of the waters, for these were the first things of flesh that were created from His hands - the fish and all that moves in the waters, and all that flies; birds and all their species. And the sun rose above them to flourish above all that was on the earth that grows out of the ground, all the trees bearing fruit and all flesh. He created these 3 classes on the 5th day.

And on the sixth day He created all the animals of the earth and all cattle and all that moves on the earth. And after all this He created the man, a man and a woman He created them and He gave him authority over all that is on the earth and in the waters and on all that flies and on all the beasts and on the cattle and on everything that moves on the ground and on the whole earth; and He gave him authority over all this. And He created these 4 classes on the 6th day.

And there were altogether 22 classes together. And He finishes all His work on the sixth day, all that is in the heavens and on the earth and in the waters and in the abyss and in the light and in the darkness and in all things.
And He gave us the day of rest as a great sign for us to work 6 days but to rest the 7th day out of all work. And all the angels of the presence and all the angels of sanctification, these two great classes, He has committed us to keep rest with Him in heaven and on earth.
And He said to us, "Behold, I will separate for Me a people among the peoples, and they shall keep the day of rest, and I will bless them and sanctify them for Me as My people, as I have sanctified the day of rest, and sanctify it for Me; similarly I will bless them and they will be My people and I will be their God. And I have chosen the seed of Jacob from all that I have seen, and I have written it as My firstborn son and sanctified it for Me forever and ever, and I will teach them the day of rest for that they keep rest out of all work.
And thereby He created a sign in accordance with which they must keep rest with us on the seventh day, eat and drink and bless him who created all things, as He blessed and sanctified for Him a particular people among all peoples and for that they keep rest together with us. And He induces His orders to come down as a sweet taste acceptable to Him every day [...].

There are 22 human heads from Adam to Jacob and 22 classes of work were done until the 7th day - it is blessed and sacred and the blessed past is sacred too and this one serves with this other to sanctification and blessing.
And to this [Jacob and his seed], it was granted that they will always be the blessed and sacred beings of the first testimony and law as He sanctified and blessed the day of rest on the seventh day.
He created the heavens and the earth and all things - God created in 6 days and He made the 7th holy day on all His works, about it He then ordered that whoever would do any work there will die and the one who would harm him will certainly die .
Then you will command the children of Israel to observe this day so that they keep it holy and do no work and not to harm it as it is more sacred than every other day and whoever profane it will certainly die and whoever does any work will surely die forever - so that the children of Israel may keep this day through their descendants and not be uprooted from the land, for it is a holy day and blessed day.
And he who keeps it and keeps the rest out of his work will be sacred and blessed forever for us too. Declare and tell the children of Israel the law of this day that they will have to keep rest together and not to break it into the error of their hearts. That it is forbidden to do any work that is inappropriate, to do it according to their personal pleasure and that they do not prepare anything to be eaten or drunk and to draw water or bring in or take out any weight through their gates that they will not have prepared for them in their homes on the sixth day; and they shall bring nothing, neither come out from house to house, on this day, for this day is more sacred and blessed than any jubilee day of jubilees.
This is why we keep the rest in the heavens before it was known of all flesh to keep rest on the earth. And the creator of all things blessed him, but did not consecrate all peoples and nations to rest but only Israel; by themselves He allowed to eat and drink and to rest on the earth. And the Creator of all things blessed that day that He had created in blessing and sanctification and glory over every day. This law and testimony was given to the children of Israel as a law forever for their descendants.

Chapter 3

1 • The Animals and Adam, days 8 to 12

And in the six days of the second week, according to the word of God, we brought to Adam all the beasts and all the cattle and all the birds and everything that moves on the earth and everything that moves in the water according to their species and their classes: the animals on the first day, the cattle on the second day, the birds on the third day and all that moves on the earth on the fourth day, and everything that moves in the water on the fifth day. And Adam named them all of their names, and as he called them, that was their name. And on the 5th day Adam saw all this, male and female of every species that was on the earth but he was alone and could not find a partner for him.

1 • Manufacture of Eve, day 13

And the Lord said to us, "It is not good for a man to be alone; let's make a wife for him! And the Lord God made a deep sleep fall on him and he slept, and He took a rib among his ribs for the woman and this rib is at the origin of the woman among his ribs and He rebuilt the flesh in his place and made the woman. And he took Adam out of his waking sleep and got up on the 6th day and He brought it to him and he knew it and said to him: - It is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh, it will be called [my ] woman, because she is taken from her husband. So man and woman will be one and so a man will leave his father and mother and unite with his wife and they will be a flesh. Adam was created the first week and his side, his wife, He showed it to him in the second week. And for this reason the order was given to maintain their impurity - 7 days for a male and 2 times 7 days for a female.
And after Adam had completed 40 days in the land from which he was created, we took him away to plow the Garden of Eden and defend it.
And they took his wife on the 80th day and after that she entered the Garden of Eden.
And for this reason the command is written on the tablets of heaven concerning the one who gives birth: If she wears a male she will remain in her impurity 7 days relative to the first week of days and she will keep 33 days to the purification of her blood and it will not touch any holy thing, nor enter the sanctuary until it has completed these days for the case of a male child. But in the case of a female child, it will remain in its impurity 2 weeks of days relative to the first 2 weeks and 66 days to the purification of his blood, which will in all 80 days.
For it is ordained to the statute of days concerning the one who gives birth to a male or female child that she should not touch holy things, nor to enter the sanctuary until these days are fulfilled. It is the law and testimony that was written for Israel so that they observe these days in full. And when for her those 80 days were fulfilled, we took her into the garden of Eden, for it is even more sacred than the whole earth, and every tree that is planted there is sacred.

1 • Garden of Eden

In the first week of the first jubilee, Adam and his wife were in the Garden of Eden, plowing and protecting for seven years, and we gave him the work and instructed him to do everything with regard to plowing. And he plowed and was naked but did not know it and was not ashamed and he protected the garden from birds and cattle and cattle and gathered his fruits for food and set aside the rest for himself and his wife [put aside what could be kept].
And at the end of the seven years he was there, exactly seven years, on the 17th day of the second month, the serpent came and approached the woman, and the serpent said to the woman: - God commanded you Saying, Thou shalt not eat any tree of the garden? And she said to him: - Of all the fruits of the garden, God has told us: Eat. But from the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, God told us: Do not eat it, do not touch it for fear of dying. And the serpent said to the woman, "You will not die, but God lets you know that the day you eat it, your eyes will be open and you will be like gods and you will know the good of the bad. And the woman saw that the tree was pleasant and pleasing to the eye and that her fruit was good as food and she took and ate it. From then on she covered her shame with fig leaves first and then she gave it to Adam and he ate and his eyes were opened and he saw that he was naked and took fig leaves and sewed them together and made a band for him and covered his shame.
And God cursed the serpent and was angry with him forever [...]. And he was angry with the woman, for she listened to the voice of the serpent and ate. And he said to him, "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your sorrows: in sorrow you will put children and your reward will be with your husband and he will rule over you."
And to Adam he also says: - Because you listened to the voice of your wife and ate the tree I ordered you not to eat, cursed the ground to your cause: It will bring you thorns and thistles and you will eat your Bread in the sweat of your forehead until you return to the land from which you were taken, for you are earth and will return to the earth. Then He made them coats of skin, dressed them and sent them away from the Garden of Eden.
And the day that Adam covered up his shame, in the morning at sunrise that day when he left the garden, he made an offering of a sweet smell of oliban, galbanum and nataf and spices.
And from that day the mouths of all the beasts and the cattle and the birds and all that walks and all that moves was closed so that they could not speak any more, because they all spoke to one another. another of a single lip and a single tongue.
And He sent out from the garden of Eden all flesh that was in the garden of Eden, and all flesh was scattered according to their kind and according to their classes to places that were created for them. And of all the beasts and cattle, to Adam alone He gave [the means] to cover his shame.
On this subject It is prescribed in the heavenly tablets affecting all those who know the judgment of the law that they must cover their shame and must not discover themselves as the pagans discover themselves.
And at the new moon of the fourth month Adam and his wife left the Garden of Eden and they lived in the land of Elda, in the land of their creation. And Adam called his wife Eve's name, and they had no sons until the 1st jubilee, and after that he knew her. Now he plows the earth as he was instructed in the Garden of Eden.

Chapter 4

2 • Abel and Cain

And in the third week of the 2nd jubilee she gave birth to Cain, and in the 4th she gave birth to Abel, and in the 5th she gave birth to her daughter Awan.

3 • Seth and Azura

And in the 1st [year] of the 3rd Jubilee Cain killed Abel, for [God] accepted the sacrifice of Abel and did not accept the offering of Cain. And he killed his brother in the field and his blood cried from the ground to heaven complaining because he had killed him. And because Abel was slain, the Lord condemned Cain and made him fugitive on the earth because of his brother's blood and cursed him on the earth. And on this subject it is written in the heavenly tablets: - Cursed is he who strikes his next treacherously. And let all who have seen and heard say, 'Let it be so.
And the man who has seen and does not declare it, let him be cursed like the other. And for this reason when we come before the Lord our God, we fully announce all sin that is committed in heaven and on earth and in the light and in the dark and everywhere.
And Adam and his wife mourned 4 weeks of years for Abel and in the 4th year of the 5th week they became happy again and Adam knew his wife again and she bore him a son and he called his name Seth because he said: - God raised for us a second seed in place of Abel whom Cain killed. And in the 6th week she brought her sister Azura.

4 • Enoc, son of Cain

And Cain took Awan his sister to be his wife and she brought him Enoc at the end of the fourth jubilee.

5 • Enos, son of Seth

And in the first year of the first week of the fifth jubilee of houses were built on the earth and Cain built a city and called his name after the name of his son Enoch.
And Adam knew his wife Eve, and she bore nine more sons.
And in the 5th week of the 5th jubilee Seth took Azura his sister to be his wife and in the 4th [year of the 6th week] she brought him Enos. He began to call the name of the Lord on earth.

7 • Kenan

And in the third week of the 7th Jubilee Enos took Noam his sister to be his wife and in the 3rd year of the 5th week she bore him a son and he named his name Kenan. And at the end of the 8th Jubilee Kenan took Mualeleth his sister to be his wife.

9 • Mahalalel

And in the 1st week of the 9th jubilee, the 3rd year of this week she brought him a son and he called his name Mahalalel.

10 • The vigils

And in the 2nd week of the 10th jubilee Mahalalel took Dinah for wife, the daughter of Barakiel and daughter of his father's brother, and in the 6th year of the 3rd week she brought him a son and he called his name Jared because in these and the angels of the Lord, who are called watchmen, come down to the earth to teach the children of men, and to do judgment and justice on the earth.

11 • Henoc

And in the 4th week of the 11th jubilee Jared took a wife for him and his name was Baraka, daughter of Rasujal, a daughter of his father's brother, and in the 4th year of the 5th week of the jubilee she brought him a son and he called his name Henoc.
And he was the first man among men born on earth who learned writing and knowledge and wisdom and who wrote in a book the signs of heaven in the order of their months so that men know the seasons of the years following the order of partition of their months. And he was the first to write a testimony and testified to the sons of men among the generations of the earth and counted the weeks of the jubilees, and he let them know the days of the years and put the months in order and counted the rest years as we let him know. And what he saw in a vision of his sleep, what was and what will be, what will happen to the children of men through their descendants until the day of judgment: he lives and understands everything and writes his testimony and placed the testimony on earth for all the children of men for their generations.

11 Y Enoch's book

And these six years of jubilees he was more often with the angels of God, who showed him all things on earth, in heaven, and the ruler of the sun, and he writes everything.
And he testified of the watchmen who had sinned with the daughters of men, for the latter had begun to unite and defile themselves with the daughters of men, and Henoc testified against them [all] and was taken from among the children of men and we conducted him into the garden of Eden with dignity and honor, and observing from thence he writes the condemnation and judgment of the world, and all the cruelty of the children of men; why God brought the waters of the flood on all the land of Eden. And he was placed there as a sign to be a witness against all the children of men so that all the actions of the generations could be counted until the day of condemnation. And he burned the incense of the sanctuary, acceptable sweet spices before the Lord on the mountain.
For the Lord had 4 places on the earth, the Garden of Eden and the Mount of the East and Mount Sinai that mountain on which you are in this day, and Mount Zion, [which] will be consecrated in the new creation for a sanctification on the earth by which the earth will be absolved from all [its] fault and its impurity through the generations of the world.

12 • Methuselah

And in the 7th week of the 12th jubilee he took for himself a wife and her name was Edna, daughter of Danel, daughter of her father's brother, and in the 6th year of this week she bore him a son and he called his name Methuselah .

14 • Lamech

And in the 14th jubilee Methuselah took Edna for wife, the daughter of Azrial, daughter of his father's brother, and in the third week, the first year of that week, she bore a son and called his name Lamech.

15 • Noah

And in the third week of the 15th jubilee Lamech took for him a wife and his name was Betenos, daughter of Barakiil, daughter of his father's brother, and in that week she bore a son and he called his name Noah saying: - This being will comfort me for my misery and all my work and for the soil that the Lord has cursed.

19 • Death of Adam and Cain

And in the 6th year of the 7th week at the end of the 19th jubilee, Adam died and all his sons buried him in the land of his creation and he was the first to be buried on earth. And he missed 70 years out of a thousand years, for a thousand years is like a day in the testimony of heaven and as it is written concerning the tree of knowledge: The day that you eat it, you will die . For this reason he did not complete the years of this day, because he died before.
At the end of this jubilee after him Cain was killed in the same year when his house fell on him and he died in the middle of his house, killed by his stones because he had killed Abel with a stone, by a stone he was killed in just judgment. For this reason he was ordained on the heavenly tablets: By the instrument with which a man kills his neighbor, by the same he will be slain; in the way that he has hurt her, in the same way they will do for him.

25 • Shem, Ham and Japhet

And in the first year of the 5th week of the 25th jubilee, Noah took a wife for him and his name was Emzara, daughter of Rakeel, daughter of his father's brother, and in the 3rd year she brought him Shem, in the 5th year she brought him Ham, and in the first year of the sixth week she brought him Japheth.

Chapter 5

26 Ÿ Giants, son of the vigilantes

And it happened when the children of men began to multiply on the face of the earth and when daughters were born to them, at a certain year of this jubilee the angels of God saw them, because they were beautiful to look at, and got themselves some of the women they chose, and they brought them sons who were giants.
And the lawless increased on the earth, and all flesh corrupted his way, men and cattle, and beasts and birds alike - all corrupted their ways and their rules, and they began to devour one another. And the sans-lois increased on the earth and every imagination of men's thoughts [was] incessantly to evil.
And God looked on the earth and behold, it was corrupt and all flesh transgressed His rulers and all that was on the earth had done all kinds of harm before His eyes and He said He would destroy from the face of the earth the men and all the flesh He created.
But Noah found grace before the eyes of the Lord, but against the angels He sent to the earth He was extremely angry and He gave orders to remove all authority from them and instructed us to tie them into the abysses of the earth and here they are tied right in the center and are [kept] separated.
And a commandment went out before His face against their sons, that they should be struck by a sword, and be removed from under the sky. And He sent His sword among them, that every one should slay his neighbor. And they began to kill each other until they fell by the sword and were all destroyed from the earth.
And their fathers were witnesses [of their destruction], and after that they were bound forever in the abysses of the earth until the day of the great condemnation, when the judgment shall be executed on all those who corrupted their ways and their works before them. the Lord. And He destroyed all their traces, and there remained not one of them whom He had not entirely judged according to his cruelty.
And He said: - My spirit will not always dwell in man, for they are of flesh too and their days will be 120 years old.
And He created a new and righteous nature in all his works so that they do not sin out of their own nature but that they are always all rights, each according to his kind.
And the judgment of all is ordained and written on the heavenly tablets of righteousness such as [the judgment of] all those who turn away and walk not according to the way which is ordained for them to walk there; the judgment is written for each creature and for each species.
And there is nothing [that is not judged] in the heavens or on the earth or in the light or the darkness or in the sheol or in the depth or in a dark place, and all their judgments are ordered, written and engraved - He will judge with regard to all, the great according to his greatness, the small according to his littleness and each according to his way.
If He says He will execute judgment on everyone, He is not He who favors [any] person, nor He who receives gifts; if one gives all that he has on earth, he will not favor gifts or [any] person, nor will he accept anything from his hands, for he is a just judge.
And of the children of Israel, it is written and ordained that if they turn to Him with righteousness, He will forgive all their transgressions and forgive all their sins.
It is written and ordained that He will give thanks to all who turn away from their fault once a year.
And of all those who corrupted their ways and thoughts before the flood, no human person was left unharmed except Noah alone, for his person was partly accepted for his sons whom God saved from the waters of the flood on his behalf because his heart was upright in all his ways, and according to what had been ordained concerning him, that he had not turned away from all that had been commanded him.
And the Lord said that He wanted to destroy everything that was on the earth, men and cattle together and beasts and birds of the air and what moves on the earth. And He commanded Noah to make an ark for him to escape from the waters of the deluge.

26 • The deluge

And [at the new moon of the first month] in the fifth year of the fifth week of the twenty-sixth anniversary, Noah made the ark in every way as He commanded him.
And he entered the 2nd month of the 6th year and entered the ark at the new moon until the 16th of the 2nd month with all those whom we brought to him, and the Lord closed it from the outside at the 17th evening.
And the Lord opened 7 gates of water from the sky and the great abyss the entrances of the fountains to the number of 7 entries; and the gates of water began to pour water from the sky and the fountains of the abyss also sent their waters for 40 days and 40 nights until the whole world was immersed in water. And the waters increased on the earth, and rose up of fifteen cubits of water over all the high mountains, and the ark was lifted up over the earth, and moved on the surface of the waters.
And the water prevailed on the face of the earth 5 months, 150 days, and the ark went to stop at the top of Lubar, one of the mountains of Ararat.
And [at the new moon] of the fourth month the water gates of heaven were contained and the fountains of the great abyss were closed.
And on the new moon of the seventh month, all the entrances of the abysses of the earth were opened and the water began to descend into the abyss beneath.
And at the new moon of the tenth month the peaks of the mountains were visible.
And on the new moon of the first month, the earth was visible.
And in the seventh year of the fifth week, the waters disappeared over the earth.
And on the 17th day of the 2nd month the earth was dry and on the 27th day He opened the ark and sent back cattle and cattle and birds and all moving things.

MessageSujet: Re: The book of Jubilees   The book of Jubilees EmptySam 23 Mar - 13:05

Chapter 6

26 Ÿ One year after the flood

And at the new moon of the third month he came out of the ark and built an altar on that mountain and made atonement for the earth. He took a small one and made atonement by his blood for all the earthly fault, for everything that was there was destroyed except those who were in the ark with Noah. And he put the fat on the altar, and he took an ox and a goat and a sheep, and some cubs and salt and a turtledove and a young dove, and put a sacrifice on the altar on the altar and poured on it a mixed offering of oil and sprinkled it with wine and covered it all with incense, which brought up a good, acceptable odor before the Lord.
And the Lord smelled the good smell, and made a covenant with him, that there shall never again be a flood to destroy the earth; that during all the days of the earth, sowing and harvesting will never cease, cold and hot and summer and winter and day and night will not change their order and will never stop.
And He said: - And you, increase yourself and multiply on the earth and you will become a lot on it and you will be a blessing on it. I will inspire the fear of you and the terror of you to everything on earth and in the water. And behold, I have given you all beasts and all things winged and all that moves on the earth and the fish in the waters and all things in food like green grasses; I have given you all things in food but the flesh with life, with the blood, you will not eat it, because the life of all flesh is in the blood, otherwise the lives will be claimed from your blood. From the hand of every man, from the hand of all [beast] I will claim the blood of the man. Who will shed the human blood, by the man his blood will be spread, because in the image of God He made the man. And you, increase and multiply on the earth.
And in that month Noah and his sons swore that they would not eat any blood of all flesh, and made a covenant before the Lord God forever for all the generations of the earth.
He told you that on this subject you make a covenant with the children of Israel by an oath in this month on the mountain and that you should sprinkle blood on them because of all the words of the covenant that the Lord made with them forever. And this testimony is written concerning you that you must observe this constantly, that in no day you eat any blood of animals or birds or cattle during all your days on earth. And the man who eats the blood of beast or cattle or birds during all the days of the earth, he and his seed will be uprooted from the land. And command the children of Israel not to eat of blood, that their names and their seed may be before the Lord our God continually. And there is no limit of days for this law because it is forever.
They will observe this for their offspring so that they can continue to beg for you with blood on the altar every day. And in the morning and evening they will seek absolution before the Lord from you in perpetuity so that they may keep it and not be uprooted.

26 Ÿ His bow in the cloud

And He gave a sign to Noah and his sons that there will be no more flood on the earth; He placed His bow in the cloud as a sign of the everlasting covenant that there will be no more flood on the earth to destroy it, every day of the earth.
For this reason it was ordained and written on the heavenly tablets that they must celebrate the Feast of Weeks once a year, to renew the alliance each year.

26 jubilees and 5 weeks Ÿ from Genesis to Flood

And this feast was fully celebrated in the heaven of the day of creation in the days of Noah, 26 jubilees and 5 weeks of years.
And Noah and his sons watched him seven jubilees and a week of years until Noah's death.
And from the day of Noah's death his sons abolished him and ate blood until the days of Abraham.
But Abraham watched him and Isaac and Jacob and his children watched him in their days.
And the children of Israel forgot it in their days until you celebrated it again on this mountain.

26 Ÿ Feast of weeks and first fruits

And command the children of Israel to observe this feast in all their generations as a commandment for them: once a year in this month they will celebrate the feast, for it is the Feast of weeks and the Feast of the first fruits; this festival is double and of a double nature as it is written and engraved on this subject. Celebrate it, because I wrote in the book of the first law what I wrote for you, that you must celebrate it in its season once a year and I explained to you its sacrifices that the children of Israel must remember and celebrate it through their generations one day a year in this month.

26 Ÿ Four days of memory

And the new moon of the 1st month and the new moon of the 4th month and the new moon of the 7th month and the new moon of the 10th month are the days of memory and the seasons of the seasons in the 4 partitions of the year; these are written and ordained as a testimony forever.
And Noah commended them for himself as feast for the generations forever to become a memorial for him:
at the new moon of the first month - he was allowed to make an ark, and on that day the earth became dry, and he opened the ark and saw the land;
at the new moon of the fourth month - the entrances from the depths of the abyss beneath were closed;
at the new moon of the seventh month - all the entrances of the abysses of the earth were opened and the waters began to descend there; and,
at the new moon of the tenth month - the peaks of the mountains were visible, and Noah was happy.
And on this subject he commanded them for himself as memorial festivals forever and they were thus ordained and put them on the heavenly tablets.
Each had 13 weeks from one to the other and passed their memorial from the 1st to the 2nd and the 2nd to the 3rd and from the 3rd to the 4th, and every day of the order is 52 weeks of days and [this constitutes] the entire year; this is engraved and ordered on the celestial tablets and there is no negligence [at this command] for a single year or year to year.

26 Ÿ A year of 364 days

And you, command the children of Israel to observe the years according to this count of 364 days and [it] will be a full year and they will not shift their time from their days and holidays, because everything according to their testimony, and they will not neglect any day, nor will they postpone any feast.
But if they neglect and do not observe them according to their ordinance then they will disturb their seasons in whole and the years will be shifted from their [order] and they will neglect their orders. And all the children of Israel will forget and will not find the way of the years and will forget the new moons and seasons and rest and they will go falsely as well as all the order of the years.
I know from now on and if I declare it to you it is not on my own, because it is engraved and written in the book in front of me and on the celestial tablets how the partition of the dates is ordered and in spite of that they will forget the feasts of the covenant, and walk after the feasts of the heathen, according to their error and according to their ignorance.
Because they are the ones who will surely make observations of the moon, how [it] influences the seasons and comes from year to year 10 days earlier.
For this reason the years will fall on them when they disturb [the order] and make the day of the testimony a hateful [day] and a feast day an unclean day and they will confuse the days to the full, the sacred with the impure and unclean day with the sacred, for they will falsely go for months and rest, and feasts and jubilees too.
For this reason I order you and confirm to you that you must attest to them, because after your death your children will disturb them to the point that they will not make the year of 364 days only and for that reason they will go wrong as well as for new moons and seasons and rest and feasts, and they will eat all kinds of blood with all kinds of meat.

Chapter 7

26 Ÿ The vineyards of Noah

And then in the first year of the seventh week of this jubilee Noah planted vines on the mountain called Lubar, one of the mountains of Ararat on which the ark had stopped, and in the fourth year they bore fruit and there watched the fruits and picked them up the 7th month of this year. He then made wine and put it in a pot and kept it until the fifth year, until the first day of the new moon of the first month.
And he celebrated the day of this feast with joy and made a fire offering to the lord of a young ox and a goat and seven sheep of one year each and a little goat to make atonement for him and his children. And he prepared the boy first, and put a quantity of the blood of his flesh upon the altar that he had made, and laid all the fat on the altar where he made the sacrifice in the fire, as well as for the ox and the goat. and the sheep, and he put all their flesh on the altar. And he added and put on the top all their offerings of oil, and then sprinkled with wine the fire which he had kindled on the altar, and he placed the incense on the altar which produces a sweet odor which rose favorably before the altar. the Lord his God.

26 Ÿ Ham and Canaan

And he rejoices and throws this wine, he and his children with joy. And it was dark when he went into his tent and being drunk he lay down and fell asleep and found himself in his tent when he slept. And Ham saw Noah his father naked and went out to tell his two brothers outside. And Shem took his coat and stood up, he and Japheth, and they put the coat on their shoulders and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father, their faces being diverted. And Noah awoke from his sleep and learned all that his youngest son had done to him and he cursed his son and said: - Cursed be Canaan, he will be a servant, slave of his brothers. And he blessed Shem and said: - Blessed be the Lord, God of Shem, and Canaan will be his servant. God will enlarge Japheth and God will dwell in the habitation of Shem and Canaan will be his servant.
And Ham learned that his father had cursed his youngest son and was displeased that he had cursed his son and he left his father, he and his sons with him, Cush and Mizraim, and Put and Canaan.

26 Ÿ First Cities

And he built for him a city and called his name after that of his wife Neelatamauk.
And Japheth saw this and became envious of his brother and he too built himself a city and he called his name after that of his wife Adataneses.
And Shem lived with his father Noah and built a city near his father on the mountain and he also called his name after that of his wife Sedeqetelebab.
And here are these 3 cities are near Mount Lubar; Sedeqetelebab in front of the mountain to the east, and Naeltamauk to the south, and Adataneses to the west.

26 Ÿ Names of the sons of Shem and Japheth

And these are the sons of Shem, Elam and Asshur and Arpachshad, this [son] was born 2 years after the flood, and Lud and Aram.
The sons of Japheth, Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan, Tubal and Meshech and Tiras. These are the sons of Noah.

28 • Noah's recommendations

And in the 28th jubilee Noah began to enjoin the sons of his sons to the ordinances and commandments and to all the judgments he knew, and he commended his sons to observe righteousness and to cover up the shame of their flesh and to bless their creator and honoring father and mother and loving their neighbor and keeping their souls against fornication and uncleanness and all unrighteousness. Because because of these 3 things the flood came on the earth, namely due to the fornication by which the guards went against the law of their ordinances with the daughters of men and took themselves of women among all those they chose and caused the beginning of impurity; and they bore sons, the naphimim, and they were all haters and they devoured one after the other, and the giants hit the naphil and the naphil hit the eljo and the human eljo, and one human another. And every one indulged himself to do iniquity and to shed much blood until the earth was filled with iniquity.
And after that they sinned against the beasts and the birds and against all that moves and walks on earth, and a lot of blood was poured on the earth according to all phantasm and arrogant desire of malevolence imagined by the men, without interruption. And the Lord destroys all things from the face of the earth because of the cruelty of their deeds and because of the blood they shed in the earth; He destroys everything.
And I was safe, me and you my sons, and all that came with us into the ark. But behold, I see in your works before me that you do not walk in righteousness but that you have begun to walk in the path of destruction and that you are separated from each other and envious one to the other. other and [so it is happening] my sons that you are not in harmony with each other with his brother. For I see and behold, the demons have begun their desires against you and against your children, and now I fear for you, because after my death you will shed the blood of men on the earth and you will be destroyed from the surface of the earth. earth too. For whoever pours human blood and whoever eats the blood of any flesh will be completely destroyed from the earth and there will be no man who will eat blood or shed human blood on the earth - nothing will be left of neither his seed nor descendant (s) living under heaven, for they will go into the sheol, they will descend into a place of condemnation and they will all be removed by a violent death in the darkness of the abyss. He will not see any blood on you from all the blood spilled on the days that you killed animals or cattle or any winged on the earth. And do a good action for your souls by covering what has been spilled on the surface of the ground. And you will not be like the one who eats with the blood and keep from everyone who eats blood in front of you - cover up the blood, because so I have been commanded to testify to you and your children, together with anyone. Do not let the soul be eaten with the flesh; that your blood which is your life is not claimed from the hand of anyone who pours it on the earth, for the earth will be cleansed of the blood that has been shed in it only by the blood of the one who poured it [only], so the earth will be purified during all its generations.
And now, my children, listen, give judgment, and righteousness, that ye may be planted in righteousness on the face of the whole earth, and your glory shall be exalted before my God, who saved me from the waters of the flood.
And behold, you will go and build cities for yourself and plant in them all the plants that are on the earth in addition to all the fruit bearing trees.
For 3 years the fruit of all that is eaten will not be picked up, and in the fourth year its fruit will be considered sacred [and they will offer the first fruits] acceptable before the Highest God who created heaven and earth and all things. Offer in abundance the first fruits of wine and of oil [as] first fruits on the altar of the Lord who receives this, and that which is left to be eaten of the servants of the house of the Lord before his altar receiving this. And in the 5th year, relax; you will loose this for righteousness and righteousness, and you will be righteous and all that you plant will prosper.
For thus did your father's father, Enoch commanded Methuselah his son and Methuselah his son Lamech and Lamech commanded me all these things that his fathers commanded him. And I also command you my sons, as Henoc the 7th of his generation commanded his son in the first jubilees when he was still alive, he commanded and testified to his son and the son of his sons until the day of his death .

The book of Jubilees Empty
MessageSujet: Re: The book of Jubilees   The book of Jubilees EmptySam 23 Mar - 16:26

Chapter 8

29 • Arpachshad, son of Shem

At the beginning of the 1st week of the 29th jubilee, Arpachshad took a wife for him and his name was Rasueja, daughter of Susan the daughter of Elam, and in the 3rd year of this week she brought him a son and he called his name Kainam . And the son grew up and his father taught him to write and he went to look for a place to measure a city and he found a writing that the previous [generations] had engraved on the rock and he read what was on it and the retranscript and sinned because of it, because it contained the teaching of the vigils according to what they did to observe the signs of the sun, the moon and the stars in all the signs of the sky. And he writes that and says nothing about it, because he was afraid to talk to Noah about it and get angry at him because of it.

30 • Shelah, son of Arpachshad / Kainam

And in the first year of the second week of the 30th jubilee, he took for himself a wife and his name was Melka, daughter of Madai the son of Japheth, and in the fourth year he had a son and called his name Shelah, for in the 4th year that he was born] he said: "Truly I was sent.

31 • Eber, son of Shelah

And Shelah grew up and in the 1st year of the 5th week of the 31st jubilee, he took for himself a wife and his name was Muak, daughter of Kesed his father's brother, and in the 5th year she brought him a son and he called his name Eber.

32 • Peleg, son of Eber

And in the third year of the seventh week of the 32nd Jubilee, he took for himself a wife and her name was Azurad, daughter of Nebrod, and in the sixth year she bore him a son and he called his name Peleg. For in the days of his birth, the children of Noah began to divide the land between them, for this reason he called his name Peleg.

33 • Three parts

And they secretly divided between them and told Noah, and it happened at the beginning of the first year of the 1st week of the 33rd jubilee, they divided the earth into 3 parts between Shem and Ham and Japheth according to the inheritance of each while one of us who was sent was with them.
And he called his sons and they came to him and their children, and he divided the land into lots for his three children to take possession of. And they stretched out their hands and took the scripture from Noah's father.

33 • Shem share

And on the writing, the lot that Shem could inherit, for him and his sons in the generations of eternity, fell to the center of the earth from the center of the Rafa mountain range to the entrance of water from the Tina River and its share extends WEST and crosses the middle of this river and extends until reaching the water of the abyss from which this river goes out and pours its waters in the sea Meat and this river flows into the Great Sea.
And all that was towards the NORTH is in Japheth and all that is towards the SOUTH goes back to Shem.
And his share goes to Karaso; this is the branching out of the tongue that faces SOUTH, and its share extends along the Great Sea and stretches in a straight line until it reaches the WEST of the peninsula which looks SOUTH, because this sea is named the peninsula of the Egyptian sea, and from there turns SOUTH towards the entrance of the Great sea to the shore of [its] waters and extends until reaching the WEST of Afra, and s' extends as far as the waters of the Gihon River, and SOUTH of the Gihon waters to the reservoirs of this river and extends EAST to the SOUTH of the Garden of Eden, [to the SOUTH ] and to the east of all the land of Eden, all the east, and turn to the east and advance until reaching the east of the mountain named Rafa and go down to the reservoir of entry of the river Tina. This share has fallen to the lot of Shem and his sons so that they forever possess it for his descendants forever.
And Noah rejoices that this goes to Shem and his sons and he remembered all that he had prophesied through his mouth, for he had said: Blessed is the Lord God of Shem and the Lord dwells in the house of Shem. And he knew that the garden of Eden is the holy of holies and the habitation of the Lord, and mount Sinai the center of the wilderness, and mount Zion the center of the navel of the earth; these 3 were created face to face like sacred places.
And he blessed the God of the gods who had put the word of the Lord in his mouth, and the Lord forever. And he knew that a blessed part and a blessing had come on Shem and his sons for generations forever - the whole country of Eden and all the land of the Red Sea and the whole country of the East and India and on the Red Sea and in the mountains, and all the land of Bashan and all the land of Lebanon and the islands of Kaftur, and all the mountains of Sanir and Amana and the mountains of Asshur in the NORTH and all the land of Elam, Asshur and Babel and Susan, and Maedai and all the mountains of Ararat and all the region in front of the sea which is in front of the mountains of Asshur towards NORTH, a blessed and spacious country, and all that is there is very good.

33 • Share of Ham

And the 2nd part of Ham went beyond the Gihon towards the SOUTH on the right of the garden and extends towards the SOUTH and extends in direction of all the mountains of fire and extends towards the WEST until the Atel sea and extends WEST until reaching the sea of Mauk, this [sea] in which all that is not destroyed descends. And it goes to the NORTH at the limits of Gadir and goes towards the coast of the waters of the sea towards the waters of the great sea until reaching near the Gihon river, and goes along the Gihon river until reaching the right of the Garden of Eden; and this is the land that returned to Ham as the portion that he would forever occupy for himself and his sons, for their descendants forever.

33 • Japhet share

And the third part of Japheth went in front of the Tina River to the NORTH of the spill of its waters and extends NORTHEAST to the whole Gog area and the whole country of the east, and extends from NORTH towards the NORTH and extends to the mountains of Qelt to the NORTH and to the sea of Mauk and it goes to the east of Gadir as far as the region of the waters of the sea. And it extends until approaching WEST of Fara and return to Aferag and extend EAST towards the waters of the Sea of Meat. And it extends to the Tina River area in a NORTHEAST direction until it approaches the border of its waters towards Rafa Mountain and turns around NORTH; this is the land that went to Japheth and his sons as part of his inheritance which he will have to possess for him and his sons, for their descendants forever: 5 big islands and a big country in the NORTH.

But it's cold and Ham's country is hot, and Shem's country is neither hot nor cold, but it's cold and hot.

Chapter 9

33 • Distribution between Noah's grandchildren

And Ham divided among his sons: and the first portion came for Cush eastward and westward for Mizraim, and to the west of him for Put, and to the west of him [and in the WEST] on the sea for Canaan.
And Shem also divided among his sons: and the first portion came for Elam and his sons east of the Tigris River to the east, all the land of India and on the Red Sea to his shores, and the waters of Dedan and all the mountains of Mebri and Ela and the whole country of Susan and all that is on the side of Pharnak towards the Red Sea and the Tina River. And for Asshur came the second portion, all the land of Asshur and Nineveh and Shinar and to the edge of India and goes up and around the river. And for Arpachshad came the third portion, all the land of the Chaldea region eastward of the Euphrates bordering the Red Sea and all the waters of the desert near the peninsula of the sea looking towards Egypt, all the Lebanon and Sanir and Amana to the edge of the Euphrates. And for Aram returned the fourth portion, all the land of Mesopotamia between the Tigris and Euphrates to the NORTH from Chaldea to the edge of the mountains of Asshur and the land of Arara. And this is what went to Lud in the fifth portion, the mountains of Asshur and all that belonged to them until they reached the great sea and reached the east of Asshur of his brother.
And Japheth also divided the land of his inheritance among his sons: and the first portion went to Gomer on the NORTH side, to the EAST towards the Tina river, and in the NORTH it was due to Magog all the inner portions of the NORTH to to reach the sea of Meat. And for Madai went the portion that he had to have in the WEST of his 2 brothers to the islands and to the coasts of the islands. And for Javan was going as 4th serving each island and the islands that are towards the edge of Lud. And at Tubal the 5th portion in the middle of the peninsula came to the edge of the Lud portion of the 2nd peninsula, towards the region in front of the 2nd peninsula to the 3rd peninsula. And for Meshech went in 6th portion all the region in front of the 3rd peninsula until approaching the East of Gadir. And at Tiras came the seventh portion, four great islands in the midst of the sea that reached the portion of Ham [and the isles of Kamaturi went out in lot for the sons of Arpachshad for his inheritance].

33 • The oath of distribution

And, behold, the sons of Noah separated them from their sons in the presence of their father Noah, and bound them by an oath that pledged a curse upon every one that sought to seize the portion that was not fallen to him in his lot. And they all said: "Let it be so, so be it!
For themselves and their sons forever, through their descendants until the day of judgment by which the Lord God will judge them with a sword and with fire for all the impure cruelties of their errors with which they will have filled the land of transgression and impurity, fornication and sin.

Chapter 10

33 • Diverger

And in the third week of this jubilee, the unclean demons began to diverge the children of Noah's sons and mislead them and destroy them. And the sons of Noah came to Noah their father, and spoke to him concerning the demons that made them diverge, blinding and killing the sons of his sons.
And he prayed before the Lord his God, and said, "God of the spirits of all flesh, who showed me mercy, and saved me and my sons from the waters of the flood, and did not allow me to perish as you did with the sons. of perdition, for Thy grace was great to me, and great was Thy mercy to my soul. May your grace be above my sons and let no evil spirits dominate them to destroy them from the earth. But bless me with my sons that we can grow and multiply and fill the earth. And you know how the vigils, the fathers of these spirits, acted in my time and as well as for those spirits that exist; imprison them and hold them in the place of condemnation and do not let them bring destruction to the sons of Your servant, my God, because they are evil and created to destroy. And do not let them dominate the spirits of the living, because only you can exercise dominion over them. Do not let them have power over the sons of the righteous from this day on and forever.
And the Lord our God commanded to bind them all. And Mastema the chief of spirits came and said, 'Lord, creator, let some of them stay before me and listen to my voice and do all that I say to them; for if some of them do not remain with me, I would be unable to execute the power of my will over the sons of men, for these are for corruption and misguidance in my judgment, for great is the cruelty of the sons of men.
And He said: - That the 10th part of them remain before him and that the 9 parts go down into the place of condemnation.
And He commanded one of us that we should teach Noah all their medicines, for He knew that they would not walk in righteousness, nor endure righteousness.
And we did according to all His words; we tied all those with the evil spirit in the place of condemnation and we left a 10th part of them to be submitted to satan on the earth. And we explained to Noah all the medicines of their diseases, together with their evil spells, how he could heal them with the herbs of the earth.
And Noah wrote all things in a book as we instructed him about each type of medicine and then the evil spirits were prevented from hurting the sons of Noah. And he gave all that he had written to Shem his eldest son, for he loved him exceedingly above all his sons.

34 • Death of Noah

And Noah slept with his fathers and was buried on Mount Lubar in the land of Ararat. He completed his life at 950 years; 19 jubilees and 2 weeks and 5 years. And during his life he excelled the children of men, except Enoch because of the justice with which he was perfect.
The function of Henoc was ordered to witness to the generations of the world so that he could bring all their actions from generation to generation until the day of judgment.

34 • Reversal

And in the 1st year of the 2nd week of the 34th Jubilee, Peleg took for him a woman whose name was Lomna, daughter of Sinaar, and in the 4th year of this week she bore him a son and he called his name Reu, because He said, "Behold, the children of men have become evil by their evil design to build for themselves a city and a tower in the land of Shinar. Because they went to the east of the country of Ararat in Shinar, and in those days they built the city and the tower saying to themselves: - Come on, so we went to heaven. And in the fourth week they started to build and they made bricks on fire and the bricks served them as stone and they cemented them together with the clay that is the asphalt that comes from the sea and the water fountains of the country from Shinar. And they built that; 43 years old to build that. The width [of a brick] was 2 bricks and the height was one-third of one; its height was 5,433 cubits and 2 palms, and [the area of one wall was] 13 stadia [and 30 stadia].
And the Lord our God says to us, 'Behold, they are a people, and they have begun to do it, and now nothing will hold them back. Let us go, go down and confuse their language so that they can not understand the language of the other and they disperse in the cities and the nations and that the same objective does not bind them any more until the day of judgment. And the Lord came down and we went down with Him to see the city and the tower that the children of men had built. And He confused their language and they could not understand the language of the other and they stopped building the city and the tower.
For this reason the whole land of Shinar is called Babel because the Lord confused there all the language of the children of men and they then scattered in their cities, each according to his language and his nation. And the Lord sent a mighty wind against the tower between Asshur and Babylon in the land of Shinar, and overthrew it on the ground, and they called his name Reversing.

34 • Canaan takes over a country that is not his own

At the beginning of the 1st year of the 4th week of the 34th Jubilee, they were scattered from the land of Shinar, and Ham and his sons went to the land he was to occupy, which he acquired as his portion in the south country. And Canaan saw that the land of Lebanon to the river of Egypt was very good and he did not go to the land of his inheritance to the WEST [which is to] the sea and he lived in the country of Lebanon , EAST and WEST of the Jordan border and at the border of the sea.
And Ham his father, and Cush and Mizraim his brethren, said to him, 'You are taking over a country which is not yours, and which has not fallen to you in your lot.' Do not do that, because if you do that, you and your sons will fall into the land and you will be cursed with revolt, because you will monopolize by revolt and by revolt your children will fall and you will always be uprooted forever. Do not live in Shem's house, because it's up to Shem and his sons in their lot. Cursed are you and cursed will you be before all the sons of Noah according to the curse by which we pledged ourselves in the presence of the sacred judge and in the presence of Noah our father.
But he did not listen to them, and he and his sons lived in the land of Lebanon from Hamath to the entrance of Egypt until this day. And for this reason, this country is called Canaan.
And Japheth and his sons went to the sea and dwelt in the land of their portion, and Madai saw the land of the sea, and it did not please him, and he asked Ham and Asshur and Arpachshad, his wife's brother, for a portion. and he lived in the land of Media, near his wife's brother, to this day. And he called his habitation and the habitation of his sons Media after the name of their father Madai.

Chapter 12

39 • Idols

And it happened in the seventh year of the sixth week, Abram addressed Terah his father, crying, "Father! Who answered him, "Behold, I am here my son! And he said: - What help and advantage do we have from those idols that you worship, and before what do you kneel? There is no spirit in them, for they are deaf-mute forms and a scorn for the heart; do not venerate them! Venerate the God of heaven who causes rain and dew to descend to the earth and do all things on earth and who created everything by His word and all life is before His face. Why venerate things that have no spirit in them? Because they are the work of [man] hands and you wear them on your shoulders and you have no help from them but they are a great cause of shame for those who made them and a mistake for the the hearts of those who worship them. Do not venerate them!
And his father answered him, "I know that also my son, but what shall I do with a people who oblige me to serve before them? And if I tell them the truth, they will kill me, because their minds tend to worship and honor them. Keep silent my son, otherwise they will kill you. And he said these words to his 2 brothers and they were angry with him and he kept silent.

40 • Leave!

And in the seventh year of the second week of the 40th jubilee, Abram took a wife for him, and his name was Saraї, his father's daughter, and she became his wife. And in the third year of the third week Haran his brother took a wife for him and in the 7th year of this week she brought him a son and he called his name Lot. And Nahor his brother took for him a wife.
And in the 60th year of Abram's life which is in the 4th year of the 4th week, Abram rose up by night and burned the house of idols; and he burned all that was in the house, and no man knew it. And they rose up in the night and sought to save their gods from the midst of the fire. And Haran hurried to save them, but fire burned on him and he was burned by fire and died in front of Terah his father in Ur of Chaldea and they buried him in the Ur of Chaldea.
And Terah left Ur of Chaldea, he and his sons, to go to the land of Lebanon and the land of Canaan, and dwelt in the land of Haran, and Abram dwelt with his father Terah in Haran two weeks of years.
And in the fifth year of the sixth week, the night of the new moon of the seventh month Abram sat down to watch the stars from evening to morning to see what would be the character of the year about the rains and he was alone when he sat down and watched. And a word came in his heart, and he said to himself, "All the signs of the stars, and the signs of the moon and the sun, are in the hand of the Lord; why [seek] them? If He wishes He would rain morning and evening, and if He desires He would hold Him back, for all things are in His hand. And he prayed that night and said, "My God, God above you, you alone are my God, and you and your authority have chosen me, because you have created all things and all things are the work of your hands. Deliver me from the hands of evil spirits who have authority over the thoughts of human hearts and do not let them get away from You my God. Strengthen me and my seed forever, so that we do not depart from you from now and forever! And he said: - Shall I return to Ur of Chaldea so that I may return to those who seek my face, or shall I remain here again? Make the right way prosper in the hands of Your servant so that he can realize it before You and I do not walk in the misguidance of my heart oh my God.
And he stopped speaking and praying, and behold, the word of the Lord was sent to him by me, saying, "Depart from this land, and from your family, and from your father's house, to a land which I will show you, and I will make you a great and great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, and you shall be blessed on the earth, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed; I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you and I will be a God for you and your sons and your son's son and all your seed. Do not be afraid from now and for all the generations of the earth, I am your God!

40 • Language of creation

And the Lord God said, "Open your mouth and your ears so that you may hear and speak through your mouth the language that was revealed and stopped on the mouths of all the children of men on the day of the overthrow." ].
So I opened his mouth and his ears and his lips and began to speak with him in Hebrew, in the language of creation. And he took the books of his fathers that were written in Hebrew and he transcribed them and from that moment he began to study them and I made him know what he could not understand and he studied them for 6 month of rain.
And it happened in the seventh year of the sixth week, he spoke to his father and informed him that he would leave Haran to go to the land of Canaan to see and return to him. And Terah his father said to him, "Go in peace! May the eternal God make your way right and may the Lord be with you and protect you from all cruelty and give you His grace, mercy and favor before those who see you, and let none of the children of men have power over you. to hurt you; Go in peace. And if you see a pleasant earth in your eyes to live there, then go and bring me to you. Take Lot with you, the son of Haran your brother as your own son; the Lord be with you! And Nahor your brother will stay with me until you return in peace and we will go with you all together.

Chapter 13

40 • The land was big and good

And Abram traveled from Haran, and took Sarah his wife, and Lot the son of his brother Haran, to the land of Canaan, and came to Asshur, and passed by Shechem, and dwelt by the side of a great oak tree. And he looked and here the earth was very pleasant from the entrance of Hamath to the big oak.
And the Lord said to him, "I will give this land to you and to your seed.
And he built an altar there and offered fire sacrifices to the Lord who had appeared to him. And from there he moved to the mountain (...). Bethel to the West and Ai to the east and pitched his tent there. And he blessed the Lord who had led him out of Ur of Chaldea and brought him to this earth.

And it happened in the first year of the seventh week, on the new moon of the first month he built an altar on this mountain and named it from the name of the Lord, You the eternal God is my God. And he offered a sacrifice for the Lord on the altar for the Lord to be with him and not to abandon him all the days of his life.

40 • Famine of Abram's time

And he moved from there and went to the south and he came to Hebron. Hebron was built in this time and he lived there for 2 years then he went to the land south, to Bealoth, because there was a famine on earth. And Abram went to Egypt in the third year of the week, and lived in Egypt five years before his wife was taken from him. At that time Tanais in Egypt had been built 7 years after Hebron.

40 • Saraї, wife of Abram

And it came to pass when Pharaoh seized Sarah the wife of Abram, and the Lord struck Pharaoh and his house with great wounds because of Sarah Abram's wife. And Abram was very shining as a result of sheep and cattle and donkeys and horses and camels, and servants and maidservants, and in silver and gold, excessively. And Lot, too, his brother's son was rich.
And Pharaoh made Sarah Abram's wife, and sent him away from the land of Egypt, and he journeyed to the place where he had pitched his tent at the beginning, at the place of the altar, having it in the east. and Bethel to the WEST, and he blessed the Lord his God who had brought him back in peace.

41 • Always and forever

And it happened in the third year of the first week of the 41st jubilee, he returned to this place and offered a sacrifice to the fire and he called the name of the Lord and said: - You the Highest God is my God forever and never !
And in the fourth year of this week, Lot broke away from him and lived in Sodom, and the men of Sodom were extremely sinful. And he was grieved in his heart that his brother's son was leaving him because he had no children.
And Abram went to Hebron and lived there. And in that year came Chedorlaomer king of Elam and Amraphael king of Shinar and Arioch king of Sellsar and Tergal king of the nations and they struck the king of Gomorrah. The king of Sodom fled and many fell in the Siddim Valley at the salt sea. And they took captive Sodom and Admah and Zeboim, and took Lot captive, the son of Abram's brother, and all his possessions, and went to Dan. And he that escaped came and told Abram that his brother's son was taken captive and [Abram] armed the servants of his house. [...]
And the king of Sodom came to him and knelt before him and said, "Our lord Abram, give us the souls that you have saved, and the spoil to you! And Abram said to him, "I lift up my hands to the Highest God, that I would not even take a shoe-lace thread of what is yours for you not to say: I made Abram rich. Only save what the young men have eaten, and for the portion of the men who have come with me, Aner, Eschol and Mamre - they will take their share.
For Abram and his seed, the 10th of the firstfruits to the Lord, and the Lord ordained it as an ordinance forever that they should give it to the priests who serve before Him so that they may possess it forever. And to this law there is no limit of days, for He has ordained it for the generations forever that they must give to the Lord the 10th of all things, seed and vine, and oil and cattle and sheep. And He gave it to the priests to eat and drink with joy before Him.
In the year that Lot was taken captive, the Lord told Abram after Lot left him, in the 4th year of this week: - Look up from where you live, NORTH to SOUTH and WEST to the east, for all the earth that you see I will give to you and your seed forever and I will return your seed like the sand of the sea: to think that a man can count the dust of the earth, even your seed can not be counted. Arise, walk [across the land] in its length and width, and look at everything, for to your seed I will give it.

Chapter 14

41 Ÿ Count the stars

After these things, in the fourth year of this week, on the new moon of the third month, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a dream saying: - Do not be afraid Abram, I am your defender and your reward will be extremely great. And he said, "Lord, Lord, what will you give me to see that I am childless, and the son of Maseq, the son of my servant, is the dammasek Eliezer; he will be my heir, and to me you have given no seed. And He said to him, "This [man] will not be your heir, but your heir will be the one who comes from your own womb. And He brought her out and said to her, "Look to heaven and count the stars if you can count them. And he looked up at the sky and looked at the stars. And He said to him, "So shall your seed be. And he believed the Lord, and it was imputed to him in righteousness. And He said to him,
- I am the Lord who brought you from Ur to Chaldea to give you the land of Canaan to possess it for ever, and I will be your God for you and your seed after you.
And he said, "Lord, Lord, how shall I know that I will inherit it? And He said to him: - Bring me a 3-year-old heifer and a 3-year-old goat and a 3-year-old sheep and a turtledove and a pigeon. And he took all this in the middle of the month and as he lived in the oak of Mamre which is near Hebron, he built there an altar and sacrificed all that and he poured their blood on the altar and separated them in the middle and put them one on top of the other, but he did not separate the birds. And the birds fell on the pieces and Abram chased them away and did not allow the birds to touch them. And it happened when the sun was setting and an ecstasy fell on Abram and behold, a horror of great darkness fell on him, and it was said to Abram, - Know for certain that your seed will be like a stranger in the earth [ who is not theirs and they will enslave them and afflict them for 400 years. And I will also judge the nation for whom they will be enslaved and after that they will come out with a lot of goods and they will return to this side in the fourth generation only, because the iniquity of the amorites is not yet complete. And you will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a good old age.
And he awoke from his sleep and got up and the sun had gone down and there was a flame and behold, a furnace was steaming and a flame of fire was passing between the pieces. And on that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram saying: - To your seed I will give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great sea, the Euphrates river, the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites, the perizzites and rephaim, phakorites and hivites and amorites and canaanites and girgashites and jebusites.
And the day passed and Abram offered the pieces and the birds and their fruit offerings and their drink offerings and the fire devoured them.
And on that day we made an alliance with Abram as we made a covenant with Noah in that month and Abram renewed for himself the feast and the ordinance forever. And Abram rejoiced and told all these things to Sarah his wife, and he thought he would have a seed, but she did not give birth. And Saraї counseled her husband Abram and said to him, "Go to Hagar, my Egyptian maid, for it may be that I make your seed by her. And Abram listened to the voice of Sarahї his wife, and said unto him, Do so. And Saraї took Hagar her servant the Egyptian and gave it to Abram her husband to be his wife. And he came into her and in the fifth year of this week she conceived and bore him a son and he called his name Ishmael, and it was in the 86th year of Abram's life.

Chapter 15

41 • Eternal Alliance

In the third month of the fifth year of the fourth week of this jubilee, in the middle of the month, Abram celebrated the feast of the first fruits of the harvest of grain and he offered new offerings on the altar to the Lord, the product of the first-fruits, a heifer and a goat on the altar as a burned sacrifice for the Lord, their fruit offerings and their drink offerings, he offered on the altar with incense.
And the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty, give yourself with Me and be perfect, and I will make My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face and God spoke with him and said: - This is My ordinance with you and you will be the father of many nations. Your name will never be called Abram, but your name will be Abraham from now on and forever, for I have made you the father of many nations. And I will make you great and I will make you nations and kings will come out of you, and I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your seed after you through their generations as an everlasting covenant, that I may be a God to you. and for your seed after you in the land where you were an inhabitant, the land of Canaan, that you may possess it for ever and I will be their God.
And the Lord said to Abraham, "As for you, keep My covenant, you and your seed after you, and circumcise every male among you, and circumcise your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of an everlasting covenant between me and you; the 8-day-old child will be circumcised and all male across your generations, the one who was born in your house or the one you bought from a stranger for money, the one you acquired that is not of your seed. Whoever is born in your house will certainly be circumcised and those you bought for money will be circumcised and My covenant will be in your flesh as an eternal ordinance. And the uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin on the eighth day, that soul will be cut off from his people, for he will break My covenant.
And God said to Abraham, "As for Sarah thy wife, her name shall not be called Sarah, but her name shall be Sarah. And I will bless her and give you a son by her and I will bless him and he will become a nation and kings of nations will come out of him.
And Abraham fell on his face and rejoiced and said to himself in his heart: Can a son be born of the one who is 100 years old and Sarah who is 90 years old can she give birth? And Abraham said to God, "Let Ishmael live before you! And God said, "Yes, and Sarah will also bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac, and I will establish My covenant with him and with his seed after him as an everlasting covenant.

1 • Ishmael

And for Ishmael I have heard you also, and behold, I will bless him, and make him great, and multiply him exceedingly, and he shall produce 12 princes, and I will make him a great nation. But I establish my covenant with Isaac that Sarah will carry you next year in these days. And He stopped talking with Him and God left Abraham.
And Abraham did as God said unto him, and he took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and bought every man of his house against money, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin. And in the same day Abraham was circumcised, and all the men of his house, and all those whom he had bought for money from the children of the stranger, were circumcised with him.
This law is for all generations forever and there is no circumcision outside these days and no omission of a day but according to the 8 days, because it is an eternal ordinance ordered and written on the tablets of the sky.
And every being born, the flesh of him whose foreskin is not circumcised on the eighth day is not one of the children of the covenant that the Lord made with Abraham, but the children of destruction, Is there any sign on him that he belongs to God, then [he is destined] to be destroyed and eliminated from the earth and to be uprooted from the earth, for he will break the covenant of the Lord our God. For all the angels of the presence and all the angels of sanctification were thus created on the day of their creation, and He sanctified Israel before the angels of the presence and the angels of sanctification so that they are near Him and close to them. His holy angels.
And you command the children of Israel and observe the sign of His covenant as an eternal ordinance for their descendants and they will not be uprooted from the land. For the commandment is ordained as a covenant, that they may observe it for ever among the children of Israel. For Ishmael and his sons and his brothers and Esau, the Lord did not allow them to come near him and He did not choose them because He knows that they are the children of Abraham but He chooses Israel to be His people . And He sanctified him and gathered him among the children of men, for there are many nations and many peoples, and they are His, and over all He put authorized spirits to remove them from Him. But on Israel He will not add any angel or spirit, for He alone is their director and He will preserve them, and will require them from the hand of His angels and spirits and from the hand of all His powers so that He may to preserve and bless them and that they may be His and that He may be theirs from now on and forever.
And now I say to you that the children of Israel will not keep this ordinance truly and that they will not circumcise their sons according to this whole law but will miss this circumcision of their sons, their circumcision in the flesh, and they all, son of Beliar, leave their sons uncircumcised when they are born. And there will be great anger of the Lord against the children of Israel because they will forsake His covenant and turn away from His word and will provoke and blaspheme as long as they do not observe the ordinance of this law because they will have treated their families as pagans so that they can be removed and uprooted from the land. And there will be no more forgiveness or excuse for them [so that they may forgive or excuse] all the sin of this eternal error.

Chapter 16

41 • Isaac

And at the new moon of the fourth month we appeared to Abraham at the oak of Mamre and we talked with him and we told him that a son would be given to him by Sarah his wife. And Sarah laughed, because she heard that we had said these words to Abraham and we repressed her and she was afraid and denied that she had laughed about the words. And we told him the name of his son Isaac, and his name is ordained and written in the tablets of heaven, and when we come back to her at the appointed time, she will have conceived a son.
And in that month the Lord exercised His judgments against Sodom and Gomorrah and Zeboim and all the region of the Jordan, and He burned them with fire and brimstone and destroyed them until this very day - [here] I told you all their actions, how extremely cruel and sinful they are, and how they defile themselves and commit fornication in their flesh and act uncleanly on the earth. God will execute judgment in the same way in the places where they act according to the impurity of Sodom.
But we saved Lot, because God remembered Abraham and took him out of the middle of the overthrow. And he and his daughters sinned on the earth as it had never been on the earth from the days of Adam until today, because the man slept with his daughters. And behold, he was ordained and engraved on the heavenly tablets concerning his entire seed to remove them and uproot them and execute judgment upon them as the judgment of Sodom and leave no seed of man on earth the day of the sentence.
And in that month Abraham left Hebron, and departed, and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur in the mountains of Gerar.
And in the middle of the fifth month he departed from there and dwelt at the oath-well.
And in the middle of the sixth month the Lord visited Sarah and He did for her as He said and she conceived.
And she bore a son in the third month, in the middle of the month, Isaac was born at the time that the Lord had spoken to Abraham at the feast of the first fruits of the crops and Abraham circumcised his son on the eighth day; He was the first to be circumcised according to the covenant that is ordained forever.
And in the sixth year of the fourth week, we went to Abraham at the well of the oath and we appeared to him [as we told Sarah that we would return to her when she conceived a son-and we returned to the seventh month and found Sarah with the child before us] and we blessed him and told him all the things that were decreed concerning him, that he would not die before he had 6 more sons and that he would see them before to die, but that his name and seed shall be declared by Isaac, and all the seed of his sons shall be heathens, and shall be seen with the Gentiles, but one of the sons of Isaac shall become a holy seed, and shall not be not considered among the Gentiles, for it will become the portion of the Highest and all its seed will fall as the possession of God, to be a people of the Lord, in [His] possession over all the nations, and that it becomes a kingdom and priests and a holy nation.

41 Ÿ Feast of the huts

And we went our way and told Sarah all that we had told her, and they rejoiced together with great joy. And he built there an altar to the Lord who had delivered him and who made him rejoice in the land of his stay and he celebrated 7 days a feast of joy in this month near the altar he had built at Oath well. And he built huts for himself and his servants at this feast and he was the first to celebrate the feast of the huts on the ground. And during these 7 days he brought daily on the altar an offering to the fire to the Lord of 2 oxen, 2 rams, 7 sheep and a goat as a sin offering to make atonement for him and his seed, and a thanksgiving offering. 7 rams, 7 little ones, 7 sheep, and 7 male goats, and their fruit offerings, and their drink offerings, and he burned on the altar a sacrifice of choice for the Lord, all the fat, as a sweet fragrant flavor. And morning and evening he burned substances perfumed with olibanum, galbanum and nataf and nard and myrrh and spice and balm, he offered all these 7 crushed, mixed together in equal shares [and] pure. And he celebrated this feast for seven days, rejoicing with all his heart and with all his soul, he and all those who were in his house and there was no stranger with him, nor anyone who was uncircumcised . And he blessed his creator who had created him in his generation, because He had created him according to His good pleasure, because He knew and perceived that from him would rise the plant of justice for the eternal generations and from him a sacred seed to become like the One who did all things. And he blessed and rejoiced and called the name of this feast, the Lord's Day, a pleasant joy for the Highest God. And we blessed him forever and all his seed after him, through all the generations of the earth because he celebrated this feast in his season, according to the testimony of the heavenly tablets.
For this reason it is ordered on the heavenly tablets concerning Israel, that they must celebrate the feast of the huts with joy, pleasing before the Lord, every year in the 7th month, for 7 days - a status forever through their generations. And for that there is no limit of days, because it is ordered to always concerning Israel, that they must celebrate it and lodge in cabins and place garlands on their heads and take leafy branches and willows of the brook . And Abraham took branches of palm trees and the fruit of good trees and turned every day around the altar with the branches, 7 times a day in the morning he praised and thanked his God with joy for all things.

Chapter 17

41 • Archer before God

In the first year of the fifth week of this jubilee, Isaac was weaned and Abraham made a grand banquet in the third month, the day his son Isaac was weaned. And Ishmael the son of Hagar the Egyptian was in his place before the face of Abraham his father and Abraham rejoiced and blessed God, because he had seen his sons and would not die without children. And he remembered the words that the Lord had said to him the day that Lot broke away from him and he rejoiced because He had given him a seed on the earth to inherit the earth and he blessed the Creator of all things of all his mouth. And Sarah saw Ishmael playing and dancing, and Abraham rejoicing with great joy, and she became jealous of Ishmael and said to Abraham, 'Hunt this maid and her son, for the son of this servant will not inherit with my son Isaac. And the thing was terrible in Abraham's eyes about this slave and about his son that he had to remove them from him. And God said to Abraham, "How unimportant in your eyes for the child and for the slave; all that Sarah will say to you, listen to her words and do them, for in Isaac will be your name and declared seed. But for the son of this slave, I will make him a great nation because he is of your seed.
And Abraham got up early in the morning and took bread and a bottle of water and placed them on the shoulders of Hagar and the child and sent them away. And she went and wandered in the desert of Beer-sheva and the water of the bottle was consumed and the child was thirsty and was no longer able to move forward and fell. And his mother took him and placed him under an olive tree and went away and sat back to him at a distance of arrow shot, because she said: - That I do not see the death of my child! And when she sat down, she cried. And an angel of God, one of the holy beings, said to him: "Why do you cry Hagar? Rise up to take the child and take it in your hand, because God heard your voice and saw the child. And she opened her eyes and saw a well of water and she went and filled her water bottle which she gave to the child to drink and she got up and went to the desert of Paran.
And the child grew up and became an archer and God was with him and his mother took for him a wife among the daughters of Egypt and she bore him a son and he called his name Nebaioth, because she said: - The Lord was close of me when I called upon Him.

41 • Mount Zion

And it happened in the first year of the seventh week of this jubilee, in the first month - on the twelfth of this month, there were rumors in heaven concerning Abraham, that he loved the Lord, and that he was faithful in everything that He had told her and that in every affliction he had remained faithful.
And the prince mastema came and said before God: - This is Abraham loves his son and he rejoices in him above other things. Command him to offer it on the altar as a sacrifice to the fire and you will see if he will do this order and You will know when You will test him if he is faithful in everything, You will test him!
And the Lord knew that Abraham was faithful against all afflictions, because He had felt it by his country and famine, and had felt it by the wealth of kings, and had experienced it by his wife when she was torn off [from him] and through circumcision, and He had tested it by Ishmael and Hagar his slave when he sent them away. And in all that He had experienced, He had been found faithful and His soul was not impatient and He was slow to act because He was faithful and loving the Lord.

Chapter 18

41 Where is the sheep of the sacrifice?

And God said to him, "Abraham, Abraham! And he said: - Behold, I am [here]! And he said, "Take your beloved son whom you love most, Isaac, and go to that high country and offer it on one of the mountains that I will point you with. And he got up early in the morning and saddled his donkey and took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son and cut the wood of the sacrifice on fire and he went to the place on the third day and he saw the place of the 'altar. And he went to the well of water and he said to his young men: - Stay here with the donkey and me and the boy will go [up] and we will come back to you after worshiping. And he took the wood of the sacrifice on fire, and laid it on Isaac his son, and took in his hand the fire and the knife, and they went all together together to this place.
And Isaac said to his father, "Father! And he said, "I am here my son. And he said to him, "Here is the fire and the knife and the wood, but where is the sheep for the sacrifice on fire, father? And he said, "God will provide for himself a sheep for a sacrifice on fire, my son. And he came near the place of the mount of God. And he built an altar and put the wood on the altar and tied Isaac his son and placed him on the wood that was on the altar and spread his hands to take the knife to kill his son Isaac. And I stood before him and before the prince mastema, and the Lord said: "Command him not to put his hand on the boy, nor to do anything against him, for I have shown that he fears the Lord. And I called him out of heaven and said to him, "Abraham, Abraham! And he was terrified and said, - Here, I am [here]. And I said to him, "Do not carry your hand on the boy, do not do anything against him, for I have now shown that you fear the Lord and have not kept from me your son, your first-born son. And the prince mastema was put in shame and Abraham lifted up his eyes and here is a ram [...] captured by his horns and Abraham went and took the ram and offered it as a sacrifice to the fire instead of his son. And Abraham called this place, The Lord saw, as it is said, The Lord saw, which is Mount Zion.

41 Ÿ Like stars and sand

And the Lord called Abraham from heaven a second time by name and He made us appear to speak to Him in the name of the Lord and He said: - By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this and have not withheld from Me your son, your beloved son, that in blessing I will bless you and in multiplication I will multiply your seed like the stars of the sky and the sand that is on the beach. And your seed will inherit the cities of its enemies and in your seed will be blessed all the nations of the earth because you have obeyed My voice and I have shown to all that you are faithful to me in all that I have said. Go in peace!
And Abraham went to his young men and they got up and went together to Beer-sheva and Abraham lived near the well of the oath and each year he celebrated this feast 7 days with joy and he called it the feast of the Lord according to the 7 days during which he went and returned in peace. And so he was ordained and written on the heavenly tablets concerning Israel and his seed that they must observe this feast 7 days with joy of celebration.

Chapter 19

42 • Abraham & Rebekah

And in the 1st year of the 1st week of the 42nd jubilee, Abraham returned and lived opposite Hebron which is Kirjath Arba, for 2 weeks of years.
And in the first year of the third week of this jubilee, the days of Sarah's life were fulfilled and she died in Hebron and Abraham went to cry over her and bury her. And we felt it [to see] if his mind was patient and he was not indignant with the words of his mouth and in that he was found patient and not troubled. He dialogued with the children of Heth with patience of mind with the intention that they give him a place to bury his dead. And the Lord gave him grace in the sight of all who saw him, and he kindly solicited the children of Heth, and they gave him the land of the double cellar in front of Mamre, which is Hebron, for 400 pieces of silver. And they solicited him, saying, "We will give it to you for nothing. But he did not want to take it out of their hands for nothing, so he gave the price of the place, the money in full, and he bowed before them twice, and after that he buried his dead in the double cellar .
And all the days of Sarah's life were 127 years old, which are 2 jubilees and 4 weeks and 1 year old; these are the days of the years of Sarah's life. It was the 10th time that Abraham had been tested and was found faithful and patient of spirit. And he does not say a single word of the rumor about the land that God said He would give it to him and his seed after him and he asked for a place to bury his dead, because he was found faithful and was registered as a friend of God on the heavenly tablets.

42 • Rebecca

And in the fourth year he took a wife for his son Isaac, and his name was Rebekah [daughter of Bethuel, son of Nahor brother of Abraham], sister of Laban and daughter of Bethuel. And Bethuel was the son of Melca who was the wife of Abraham's brother Nahor.

42 • Keturah

And Abraham took for him a third wife among the daughters of the servant servants, and his name was Keturah, for Hagar had died before Sarah.
And in the 2nd week of years she brought him 6 sons, Zimram and Jokshan and Medan and Midian and Ishbak and Shuah.

42 • Jacob & Esau

And in the 2nd year of the 6th week Rebekah bore Isaac 2 sons, Jacob and Esau, and Jacob was a gentle and righteous man, and Esau was hairy and impetuous, a man of the field, and Jacob dwelt in the tents. And the young grew up and Jacob learned to write but Esau did not learn because he was a field man and a hunter and he was learning war and all his actions were impulsive. And Abraham loved Jacob but Isaac loved Esau and Abraham saw the actions of Esau and he knew that in Jacob his name and seed would be called and he called Rebekah and gave him instruction for Jacob because he knew that she [also] loved Jacob much more than Esau.
And he said to him, "My daughter, keep my son Jacob, for he shall be in my place on the earth, and blessed among the children of men, and a glory for all the seed of Shem. For I know that the Lord will choose him as a possession for himself, to be a people above all peoples who are on the face of the earth. And behold, Isaac my son loves Esau more than Jacob, but I see that you truly love Jacob. Add again your kindness to him, and let your eyes be upon him, for he will be a blessing on us from now on to the whole generations of the earth. May your hands be strong and your heart rejoice in your son Jacob, for I loved him more than all my sons, he will be blessed forever and his seed will fill the whole earth. If a man can count the sand of the sea, his seed will also be counted. And all the blessings by which the Lord has blessed me and my seed will return to Jacob and his seed forever and by his seed my name will be blessed and the names of my fathers Shem and Noah and Henoc and Mahalalel and Enos and Seth and Adam and they will serve to lay the foundations of the sky and to strengthen the earth and renew all the lights that are in the firmament.
And he brought Jacob under the eyes of Rebekah his mother and kissed him and blessed him and said: - Jacob my beloved son that my soul loves, God above the heavens bless you and that He give you all Blessings with which He blesses Adam and Henoc and Noah and Shem and all the things He has told me and all the things He has promised to give me, that He makes them cling to you and to you seed for ever after the days of heaven above the earth. And may the spirits of mastema not rule over you or your seed to distract you from the Lord who is your God from now on and forever and may God be a Father to you and you the firstborn son and to the people for ever. Go in peace, my son!
And both of them left Abraham together, and Rebekah loved Jacob with all his heart and all his strength much more than Esau, but Isaac loved Esau much more than Jacob.

Chapter 20

42 • Ismaël & Keturah

And in the first year of the seventh week of the 42nd jubilee, Abraham called Ishmael and his twelve sons, and Isaac and his two sons, and the six sons of Keturah, and their sons, and commanded them to keep the way of the Lord, to act justly and to love each other's neighbor and to act in this way with men so that all walk for the sake of them to make judgment and justice on the earth. That they must circumcise their sons according to the covenant [that He] made with them and not deviate to the right hand or to the left from all the ways that the Lord has commanded us and to guard us from all fornication and impurity [and renounce all fornication and impurity among us]. And if a woman or servant commits fornication among us, burn her in the fire and do not let them commit fornication with her according to their eyes and their hearts. And do not take women among the daughters of Canaan, for the seed of Canaan will be uprooted from the land.
He then spoke to them of the judgment of the giants and the judgment of the sodomites as they had been judged for their cruelty and died because of their fornication and impurity and mutual corruption by fornication. And guard yourself from all fornication and impurity and out of all pollution of sin for fear of putting on your name a curse and your whole life in mockery and that your sons are all destroyed by the sword and that you become accursed as Sodom and all your rest as the sons of Gomorrah.
I conjure you my sons to love the God of heaven and to bind you to all His commandments. And do not walk according to their idols and their impurity and do not make yourself molded or engraved gods, for they are vanity and there is no spirit in them, for they are the work of the hands [of man] and all who believe in them believe in nothing.

42 Ÿ Bless your sons in my name

Do not serve them, nor venerate them, but serve the Highest God and serve Him continually and always wait for His approval and act righteously and justly before Him so that He will take pleasure in you and grant you His mercy and send you on you morning and evening rain and bless all the work you have done on the earth and bless your bread and your water and bless the fruit of your uterus and the fruit of your land and the grass of your livestock and the flocks of your sheep. And you will be blessed on earth and all the nations of the earth will desire you. Bless your sons in my name so that they may be blessed as I am.

42 Ÿ Arabs and Ishmaelites

And he gave presents to Ishmael, and to his sons, and to the children of Keturah, and removed them from his son Isaac, and gave all things to Isaac his son. And Ishmael and his sons, and the sons of Keturah, and their sons, went together, and dwelt from Paran to the entrance of Babylon, all the way eastward unto the desert. And they mixed together and their name was called Arab and Ishmaelite.

Chapter 21

42 Ÿ As for the sacrifices

And in the sixth year of the seventh week of this jubilee, Abraham called his son Isaac and commanded him saying, "I am becoming old and do not know the day of my death, and I am full of my days. And here I am, 175 years old, and through all the days of my life I remembered the Lord and sought with all my heart to do His will and to walk right in all His ways. My soul hated idols, giving me heart and mind so that I consider to act according to the will of the One who created me. Because He is the living God and He is sacred and loyal and He is just above all else and with Him there is no exception of persons [men], nor exception of gifts, for God is just and pronounce judgment on all those who transgress His commandments and despise His covenant. And you also, my son, keep His commandments and His judgments and judgments, and do not walk after abominations and from engraved images and from molded images. Do not eat the blood of any animal or livestock, or any of the birds flying in the sky. And if you kill a victim as an acceptable sacrifice of peace, kill her and shed her blood on the altar and offer all the fat of the sacrifice offering on the altar with fine flour and oil mixture on the altar. meat sacrifice with his drink offering; offer them together on the altar of fire sacrifice; it is a sweet smell before the Lord. And you will offer the fat of the thank offering on the fire that is on the altar and the fat that is on the belly and all the fat from the inside and the two kidneys and all the fat that is on them and on loins, and you will remove the liver with the kidneys together; offer all this as an acceptable sweet smell before the Lord with the meat offering and his sweet offering as a sweet smell, the bread of the offering to the Lord. Eat his meat the same day and the 2nd day, but the 2nd day does not let the sun go down on it until it is eaten, because it is not acceptable [because it is not approved] and that it is no longer eaten, and all who eat it will bring sin upon them, for behold, I have found it written in the books of my ancestors, and in the words of Henoch, and in the words of Noah.

42 Ÿ As for salt

And you will pour salt on all your offerings and not let the salt of the covenant be missing in all your offerings before the Lord. And as for the wood of the sacrifices, take care not to bring [other] wood on the altar in addition to those; cypress, laurel, almond, fir, pine, cedar, juniper, fig, olive, myrrh, camphor laurel, aspalathus, and of these kinds of wood to be deposited on the altar of the sacrifice which were examined as well as their appearance and not deposited not [top] any cracked wood or black [but] hard and clean, without flaw of a sound and new shoot, and do not lay [on] an old wood [because its fragrance is out], because there is more perfume in him as before. Beside these kinds of wood, there are no others that you will place [on the altar], because the fragrance is sparse and the smell of its fragrance does not rise to the sky. My son, watch this order and do it so that you can be right in all your facts.

42 Ÿ As for the blood

And at all times let your body be clean and wash with water before approaching the offering on the altar and wash your hands and feet before approaching the altar and when you have sacrificed, wash again your hands and feet. And leave no visible blood on you or on your clothes. Be on your guard against my blood, be on your guard in the extreme - cover it with dust. Do not eat any blood, for it is the soul; do not eat blood anyway and do not take presents against the human blood lest it be poured out with impunity, without judgment, because it is because of the shed blood that the earth sin and the earth human blood can be washed only by the blood of him who shed it. So do not accept present or gift against the human blood - blood for blood, so that you are accepted before the Lord, the Highest God, because He is the defender of the good and for you to be preserved from any malevolence and let him save you from every kind of death.

42 Ÿ As for evil

My son, I see that all the deeds of the children of men are sin and cruelty, and all their ways are unclean and an abomination and pollution, and that there is no righteousness with them. Be careful lest they walk in their ways and tread their ways and sin a sin of death before the Most High God, otherwise He will hide His face from you and send you back to the hands of your transgression and uproot you from the earth and your seed from under heaven too, and your name and seed will perish from the whole earth. Turn away from all their facts and all their impurity and observe the order of the Highest God and do His will and be right in all things and He will bless you in all your actions and He will bring up a plant of justice for you through the whole earth, through all generations of the earth and my name and your name will not be forgotten under heaven forever. Go in peace, my son! May the Most High God, my God and your God, strengthen you to do His will and bless all your seed and the rest of your seed of the just blessings so that you may be a blessing on all the earth in generations to come. always. And he left him rejoicing.

Chapter 22

43 • Weekend

And it happened in the 2nd year of the 1st week of the 43rd jubilee, which is the year when Abraham died, Isaac and Ishmael went to Abraham their father from the oath sock to celebrate the feast of weeks which is the feast of the first -fruits from the harvest and Abraham rejoices because his 2 sons had come. For Isaac had a lot of property in Beer-sheva and Isaac was used to going to his possessions and returning to his father. And in those days Ishmael came to see his father and they both went together and Isaac offered an offering sacrifice to the fire and presented it on the altar that his father had made in Hebron and he offered a thank offering and made a feast of joy before Ishmael his brother. And Rebekah made new cakes with the new grain of the first fruits of the earth and gave them to Jacob her son to bring them to Abraham his father so that he would eat and bless the Creator of all things before he died. And a better offering of thanks for Isaac too, sent by the hand of Jacob to Abraham to eat and drink. And he ate and drank and blessed the Highest God who created the heavens and the earth, who made all the fat things of the earth and gave them to the children of men so that they could eat and drink and bless their Creator .
And now I thank you my God, because you made me see that day! Here I am, 175 years old, an old man full of days and all my days have been peace for me. The sword of adversity has not prevailed over me in all that you have given me and my children, every day of my life to this day. My God ! May your mercy and peace be upon your servant and the seed of his sons, that they may be for you a chosen nation and an inheritance among all the nations of the earth from now on, even in every day, generations of the earth, in all ages.

43 Ÿ Abraham bless Jacob

And he called Jacob and said, "Jacob my son! May the God of all bless you and strengthen you to act just before His will and choose you and your seed so that you become a people for His inheritance by always following His will. Jacob my son, come near and kiss me. And he came near and kissed him and said: - Blessed be my son Jacob and all the sons of the Highest God in all ages. May God give you a seed of righteousness and sanctify some of your sons from the midst of all the earth. Let nations serve you, and let all nations bow for themselves before your seed. Be strong in the presence of men and be authoritative over all the seed of Seth then your ways and the ways of your sons will be justified so that they become a holy nation. May the Most High God give you all the blessings with which He has blessed me and with whom He has blessed Noah and Adam; that they remain on the sacred head of your seed from one generation to another forever.
And cleanse you from all unrighteousness and uncleanness so that you may be forgiven for all transgressions that you have committed ignorantly, and that He strengthen you and bless you and inherit the whole earth and renew His covenant with you so that you may be a nation for Him, for His inheritance in all ages, and for you and your seed to be a true God in all the days of the earth.

43 Ÿ As for the nations

And you Jacob, my son, remember my words and observe the commandments of Abraham your father. Separate yourself from the nations and do not eat with them and do not act according to their works and do not become their partner, for their deeds are unclean and all their ways are pollution and an abomination and impurity. They offer their sacrifices to death and they worship evil spirits and they eat on the graves and all their works are vanity and nothingness. They have no heart to understand and their eyes do not see what their works are and how they wander by saying to a piece of wood: You are my god, and to a stone: You are my lord and you are my Savior. [And who have no heart]. But for you Jacob my son, may the Most High God help you and may the God of heaven bless you and separate you from their impurity and error. Jacob my son, be careful not to take a wife from the seed of the daughters of Canaan, for all his seed will be uprooted from the land, for Canaan erred because of Ham's transgression, and all his seed will be destroyed from above. the earth and all the rest with and no offspring will be saved for him at the day of judgment and so for all the idol worshipers and the layman: there will be no hope of life for them on the earth and he There will be no remembrance of them on the earth, for they will come down to the sheol and they will go to the place of condemnation as the children of Sodom were removed from the earth, so all those who worship idols will be removed.
Jacob my son, do not be afraid nor be afraid, O son of Abraham, may the Most High God preserve you from destruction and deliver you from all paths of misguidance. This house that I built myself so that I could inscribe my name on earth [you are given to you and your seed forever] and it will be named the house of Abraham. It is given to you and to your seed forever, for you will build my house and establish my name before God forever. Your seed and your name will be maintained throughout all generations of the earth.
And he stopped teaching him and blessed him. And both were lying on a bed and Jacob slept on Abraham's father's father's breast, who kissed him seven times, and his affection and heart rejoiced in him.
And he blessed him with all his heart and said: - The Highest God, the God of all and Creator of all, who brought me from Ur of Chaldea so that He gives me this land to inherit forever and for me to establish a sacred seed; Blessed is the Highest God forever.
And he blessed Jacob, and said, "My son, in whom I rejoice with all my heart and all my affection; May your grace and mercy be always extended to him and to his seed. Do not abandon him, do not reduce him to nothing until the days of eternity, and let your eyes be open to him and his seed so that you may preserve him and bless him and sanctify him as a nation. for your inheritance. And bless him with all your blessings from now until the days of eternity and renew your covenant and your grace with him and his seed according to all your good pleasure to all the generations of the earth.

Chapter 23

43 Ÿ Death of Abraham

And he put two fingers on the eyes of Jacob, and blessed the God of the gods, and covered his face, and stretched out his feet, and slept eternally, and was gathered to his fathers.
And knowing nothing of it, Jacob was lying on his chest and did not know that Abraham his father's father was dead. And Jacob awoke from his sleep, and behold, Abraham was cold as ice, and said, "Father, father! But there was no one to answer and he knew he was dead. And he got up from his bosom and ran to tell Rebekah his mother and Rebekah went to Isaac in the night to tell him and they went together and Jacob with them, a lamp in his hand, and when they came in they found Abraham lying dead. And Isaac fell on his father's face and cried and kissed him. And the voices were heard in the house of Abraham and Ishmael his son arose and went to Abraham his father and wept over his father Abraham, he and all the house of Abraham and they wept with great lamentation. And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the double cellar near Sarah his wife, and all the men of his house and Isaac and Ishmael and all their sons, and all the sons of Keturah from their places, wept for 40 days and then the days of mourning for Abraham ended. And he lived three jubilees and four weeks of years, 175 years, and completed the days of his life in old age and full of days.

43 Ÿ Decrease in years of life

For the days of the life of the patriarchs were 19 jubilees but after the flood they began to descend under 19 jubilees and decline in jubilee and to age quickly and be full of their days because of the misfortune and the cruelty of their all except Abraham, for Abraham was perfect in all his deeds with the Lord and complying with righteousness all the days of his life. And behold, he did not complete 4 jubilees of his life, for he was growing old because of cruelty and was full of his days. And all the generations that will rise from this time to the days of the great judgment will quickly age before completing 2 jubilees, and their knowledge will abandon them because of their old age [and their knowledge will be completely dissipated].
And in those days, if a man lives a jubilee and a half years, they will say about him that he lived a long time, but most of his life was in sorrow, sorrow and misery and that without peace. For calamity will follow calamity and wound injury and misfortune on misfortune and bad news on bad news and disease on sickness and all the bad judgments like these, one after another, sickness and upset and snow and frost and ice and Fever and coldness and torpor and famine and death and sword and captivity and all kinds of calamities and sufferings.
And all this will come on a cruel generation that transgresses on earth; their works are impurities and fornication and pollution and abominations. Then they will say: The days of our ancestors were many up to 1000 years [even] and were good, but here are the days of our life are 70 years old if a man has lived a lot, and 80 years old if he is strong, and for the bad, there is no peace during the days of this evil generation. And in this generation the sons will accuse their fathers and their elders of sin, injustice, and words of their mouths, and the great cruelty they perpetrated, and concerning their abandonment of the covenant that the Lord made between them and them that they should observe and apply all His commandments and ordinances and all His laws without turning to the right hand or to the left. For all have done evil, and every mouth speaks unjustly, and all their labors are unclean and abominable, and all their ways are pollution, impurity, and destruction.
Behold, the earth will be destroyed because of all their works and there will be no seed of the vine and no oil, for their works are all unfaithful and they will perish together, animals and cattle, birds and all sea fish because of the children of men.
And they will strive with each other about the law and the covenant, the young with the old and the old with the young, the poor with the rich, the little with the great, and the beggar with the prince, for they will have forgotten command and covenant, festivals, months, rest, and jubilees, and all judgments. And they will take the swords and go to war to bring them back on the path but they will not return until a lot of blood is poured on the earth, one by the other. And those who have escaped will not turn away their malevolence to the path of righteousness, but all will exalt themselves to betray and enrich themselves so that everyone can take all that is his neighbor, and they will name their name but without truth and righteousness, and they will corrupt the holy of holies with their impurity and the corruption of their pollution. And a great chastisement of the Lord will reduce the means of this generation and He will give them to the sword and to judgment and captivity to be pillaged and devoured. And He will awaken against them sinners among the Gentiles, who have neither pity nor compassion and who respect no person, neither old nor young nor anyone, for they are evil and strong to do evil more than all the children of men . They will use violence against Israel and transgression against Jacob, and much blood will be shed on the earth and there will be no one to gather and no one to bury. In those days they will shout loudly and call and pray that they may be saved from the hand of sinners the Gentiles, but no one will be saved. And the children's heads will turn white with gray hair and a 3-week-old child will look as old as a 100-year-old man, and their stature will be destroyed by misfortune and oppression. And in those days, children will begin to study the laws and seek the commandments and return to the path of justice. And the days will begin to greatly increase and rise among the children of men until their days are approaching 1,000 years and to a greater number of years than was the number of days [before]. And there will be no old man, nor one who is happy with his days, for all will be [like] children and young people. And all their days will be completed and they will live with peace and joy and there will be no satan nor any bad destroyer, for all their days will be days of blessing and healing. And in that time the Lord will heal His servants who will rise up to see the great peace and free themselves from their adversaries. And the righteous will see and be grateful and rejoice in joy forever and ever, and will see all their judgments and all their curses upon their enemies. And their bones will remain on the earth and their spirits will have great joy and they will know that it is the Lord who executes the judgment and shows mercy to the hundreds and thousands and all those who love Him.
And you, Moses, write these words, for thus are they written and engraved on the heavenly tablets, as a testimony to the generations forever.

Chapter 24

43 • Esau sells his right of birth

And it happened after the death of Abraham, the Lord blessed his son Isaac who left Hebron, and in the first year of the third week of this jubilee he went to live in the well of vision for seven years.
And in the first year of the fourth week a famine began in the country apart from the first famine that had occurred in the days of Abraham.
And Jacob spied a soup of lentil and Esau came out of the fields hungry and said to Jacob his brother: - Give me this red soup. And Jacob said to him, "Sell me your [prime-geniture, your] elder, and I will give you bread and a portion of that lentil soup." And Esau says in his heart: I'm going to die! What profit will this birthright give me? And he said to Jacob, "I give it to you. And Jacob said, "Swear to me this day. And he swore. And Jacob gave his brother Esau bread and soup, and he ate until he was satisfied, and Esau despised his birthright; for this reason the name of Esau was called Edom for the red soup which Jacob gave him against his birthright. And Jacob became the eldest, and Esau was demeaned in his dignity.

43 • Famine of Isaac's time

And the famine was in the land, and in the second year of that week Isaac went to Egypt, and went to the king of the Philistines at Gerar, to Abimelech.
And the Lord appeared to him and said to him, "Do not go down to Egypt, live in the land that I will tell you and stay on this earth, and I will be with you and bless you. For I will give this whole earth to you and to your seed, and I will establish My covenant, which I swore to your father Abraham, and I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and give this whole earth to your seed, and to your seed. blessed all the nations of the earth, for your father obeyed My voice and kept My charge and My commandments and My laws and My ordinances and My covenant, and now obeyed My voice and dwell in this land.
And he dwelt in Gerar three weeks of years, and Abimelech commanded about him, and concerning all that was his, saying, "Every man that touches him, whether he, or any thing that is his, shall surely die." And Isaac grew strong among the Philistines, and he had many possessions, oxen and sheep and camels and donkeys, and a large household. And he sowed on the earth Philistines who brought back 100 times, and Isaac became extremely tall and the Philistines envied him. However, all the wells that Abraham's servants had dug in Abraham's life, the Philistines stopped them and filled them with dirt after Abraham's death. And Abimelech said to Isaac, "Separate yourself from us, for you are much more powerful than we are.
So Isaac left in the 1st year of the 7th week and stayed in the Gerar valleys. And they dug again the wells of water which the servants of Abraham his father had dug and which the Philistines had plugged up after the death of Abraham his father, and he named their names as Abraham appointed them. And Isaac's servants dug a well in the valley and found living water, and the shepherds of Gerar compelled the shepherds of Isaac, saying, "The water is ours. And Isaac called the well of the name of Perversity because they had been perverse with us. And they dug a second well and they compelled for that one too, and he called his name Enmity. And he went away from there and they dug another well and they were not constrained for that one and he called his name Place and Isaac said: - Now the Lord has made room for us and we have grown up in the land.

44 Ÿ Appearance at the oath well

And in the first year of the first week of the 44th jubilee he went from there to the well of the oath and the Lord appeared to him that night, at the new moon of the first month, and said to him: - I am the God of Abraham thy father, do not be afraid, for I am with you, and I will bless you, and surely multiply your seed as the sand of the earth for the sake of Abraham my servant.
And he rebuilt there the altar that his father Abraham had built first and he invoked the name of the Lord and he made sacrifice to the God of Abraham his father.
And they dug a well and found living water. And Isaac's servants dug another well, but found no water, and went to tell Isaac that they had not found water, and Isaac said, "I have sworn to the Philistines this day, and this something is announced to us. And he called the name of this place the well of the oath, for there he had sworn to Abimelech and his friend Ahuzzath and Phicol the prefect of his house. And Isaac knew that he swore to them under duress that day to make peace with them.

44 Ÿ Woe to the captorium

And on that day Isaac cursed the Philistines and said, "Cursed are the Philistines until the day of wrath and indignation of the midst of the whole nation; may God make of them a derision and a curse and a subject of anger and indignation in the hands of the sinners of the Gentiles and in the hands of the kittim. And whoever escapes from the sword of the enemy and the kittim that the just nation uproots him in judgment under heaven, for they will be the enemies and adversaries of my children through their generations on earth. And no remnant will remain to them, neither will any one be saved in the day of the wrath of the judgment but destruction, uprooting and expulsion from the earth are for the entire seed of the Philistines [alone] and there will be nothing left of these caphtorim, nor name or seed on the earth. Because to think that he is going up to heaven - then he will be put down, and think that he has been fortified on earth - then he will be dragged, and think that he is hiding among the nations - even from there he will be uprooted, and to think that he is going down to the sheol - there too his sentence will be great and there too he will have no peace. And if he goes into captivity, by the hands of those who seek his life, he will be struck on the way and no name nor seed will be left to him on all the earth, for he will be allotted the eternal curse. And behold, it is written and engraved concerning him on the heavenly tablets what to make him the day of the judgment so that he is uprooted from the earth.

Chapter 25

44 Ÿ Rebecca prophesies

And in the second year of this week of this jubilee, Rebekah called her son Jacob and spoke to him saying, - My son, do not take for yourself a wife of the daughters of Canaan like your brother Esau who took two wives of the daughters of Canaan and they make my soul bitter with all their unclean deeds, for all their deeds are for fornication and lust, and there is no righteousness in them, for [their deeds] are evil. And I, my son, love you extremely and the affection of my heart bless you every hour of the day and watch over the night. And now my son, listen to my voice and do your mother's will and do not take for yourself a wife of the daughters of this land but only of the house of my father and my father's family. You will take a wife from my father's house for you, and the Highest God will bless you and your children as straight descendants and holy seed. And then Jacob spoke to Rebekah his mother and said: - Here is mother, I am 9 weeks old and I have neither known nor touched a woman, nor did I engage myself with anyone, nor even thought take me a wife of the daughters of Canaan, for I remember, mother, the words of Abraham our father when he commanded me not to take a wife of the daughters of Canaan but to take me a wife of the seed of the house from my father and my family. I heard before that girls were born to Laban your brother and I placed my heart in them to take a woman among them and for that reason I kept myself in my mind against sin or corrupting myself in all my ways, every day of my life; With regard to lust and fornication, Abraham my father gave me several commandments and despite everything he commanded me these 22 years, my brother often spoke to me and pushed me by saying: My brother, take for a woman a sister of my two wives. But I refuse to do as he did. I swear to you mother that every day of my life I will not take for myself a wife of the seed girls of Canaan and I will not act badly as my brother did. Do not fear mother, be assured that I will do your will and walk in righteousness and never corrupt my ways.
And on that she lifted her face to heaven and spread the fingers of her hands and opened her mouth and blessed the Highest God who created the heaven and the earth and she thanked Him and praised and she said: - Blessed is the Lord God and His holy name is blessed forever and ever, who has given me Jacob as a pure son and a holy seed, for He is yours, and in him his seed will be continually and through all generations forever. Bless him O Lord and place in my mouth the blessing of the righteous that I may bless him.
And at that hour, when the spirit of justice descended into her mouth, she placed both her hands on Jacob's head and said: - Blessed are you Lord of righteousness and God of the ages! May He bless you over all the generations of men, give you, my son, the way of the righteous, and reveal righteousness to your seed, and make your sons abundant throughout your life, grow according to the number of months of the year. And let their sons be many and great over the stars of heaven and their numbers be greater than the sand of the sea. And that He give them this good earth as He said He would give it to Abraham and to his seed after him always and that they have possession of it forever and that I see [born] for you my son blessed children during my life and that all your seed be a holy and blessed seed. And as you have renewed the spirit of your mother during her life, the belly of the one who bore you blesses you, [my affection] and my breasts bless you and my mouth and my tongue praise you greatly. Grow and spread over the earth, and let your seed be perfect in the joy of heaven and earth forever, and let your seed rejoice and be glad in the great day of joy. And may your name and seed be perpetuated in all ages, and may the Highest God be their God, and the God of justice dwell with them, and may His sanctuary be built by them in all ages. Blessed is he who will bless you and all flesh that accuses you falsely be cursed.
And she kissed him and said: "May the Lord of the world love you as your mother's heart for her affection for you and bless you. And she stopped her blessing.

Chapter 26

44 • Isaac blesses Jacob

In the seventh year of this week, Isaac called his eldest son Esau and said to him, "I am old, my son, and behold, my eyes are weak to see, and I do not know the day of my death. And now take your hunting weapons, your arrow and your bow, and go on the field and hunt and take me [game] my son and make me a tasty meal as my soul loves and bring it to me so that I eat and let my soul bless you before I die. But Rebekah heard Isaac speak to Esau. And Esau left early on the field to hunt and catch and bring home for his father. And Rebekah called Jacob his son, and said to him, "Behold, I have heard Isaac your father speak with Esau your brother, saying, Hunt for me, and make me a tasty dish, and bring me food for me. bless before the Lord before I die. And now my son, obey my voice in what I command you. Go to the flock and catch me 2 good goat kids and I will make them a tasty dish for your father as he loves and you will bring it to your father so that he will eat and bless you before the Lord. he dies and you are blessed. And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother: - Mother, I will not hold anything to eat for my father who can please him, I only fear my mother that he recognize my voice and want to touch me, because you know that I am smooth and Esau my brother is hairy and I will appear before his eyes as a bad and have done an action that he will not command me and he will be angry with me and I bring a curse on me and not a blessing. And Rebekah his mother said to him, "What about my curse my son, only obey my voice. And Jacob obeyed the voice of Rebekah his mother and he went and grabbed two good and fat little goats and brought them to his mother and his mother prepared them in a tasty dish as he liked. And Rebekah took a good garment from Esau, her eldest son, whom she had with her in the house, and she dressed Jacob as her youngest son, and she put the skin of the little ones on her hands and on the exposed parts of her neck. And she gave the meat and bread that she had prepared in the hand of her son Jacob, and Jacob went to his father and said: - I am your son, I did as you asked me; get up and sit down and eat what I caught father, let your soul bless me. And Isaac said to his son, "How did you catch my son so quickly? And Jacob said, "Because [the Lord God made me find]. And Isaac said to him, "Come near me, that I may feel my son if you are my son Esau or not. And Jacob approached Isaac his father and he felt it and said: - The voice is the voice of Jacob but the hands are the hands of Esau. And he did not discern it, for he had been excused from heaven to remove his power of perception, and Isaac did not discern to bless him, for his hands were hairy like his brother Esau, and he said, you my son Esau? And he answered: - I am your son. Then he said: - Come near so that I eat what you caught my son that my soul bless you. And he brought near him, and he ate, and brought him wine, and drank. And Isaac his father said to him, "Come near and kiss my son. And he approached and kissed him.
And he smelled the smell of his garment and blessed him and said, "Behold, the smell of my son is like a [great] field, which the Lord has blessed. May the Lord give you the dew of heaven and the dew of the earth and full of corn and oil. May the nations serve you and the people bow to you. Be the lord of your brothers, and let the sons of your mother bow down before you, and may all the blessings by which the Lord blessed me and blessed Abraham my father, that they be left to you and to your sons. has always. Cursed is he who curses you, and blessed is he who will bless you!
And it happened as soon as Isaac ended the blessing of his son Jacob and Jacob left Isaac his father and hid himself, Esau his brother returned from his hunt and he also made a tasty dish and [brought it] to his father and said to his father, "Let my father get up and eat my game, let your soul bless me." And Isaac his father said to him, "Who are you? And he said to him, "I am your son Esau your firstborn, and I did as you commanded me. And Isaac was greatly astonished and said, "Who is the one who chased and caught me and brought it to me and I ate everything before you came and blessed [and] he will be blessed and all his seed forever.
And it happened when Esau heard the words of his father Isaac, he began to shout with an extremely loud and bitter cry and said to his father: - Bless me, me [also] father. And he said to him, "Your brother came cunningly and took your blessing. And he said: - Now I know why his name is Jacob, behold, he has supplanted me twice: he has taken my firstborn and now he has taken my blessing. And he says : "Have not you reserved a blessing for me, father? And Isaac answered and said to Esau: - Here I did your lord and all his brothers as servants, I have strengthened with fullness of corn and wine and oil - and now will I do for you my son ? And Esau said to Isaac his father, "Do you not have a blessing, father? Bless me, me [also] father. And Esau raised his voice and cried. And Isaac answered and said: - Here, away from the dew of the earth will be your dwelling and away from the dew of heaven above, and by the sword you shall live and serve your brother. And he will come to pass when you grow up and rescue his yoke from your neck, you will sin a death sin entirely and your seed will be uprooted from below the sky.
Esau and Jacob continually threatened because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and he said in his heart: Let the days of mourning for my father now come for me to kill my brother Jacob.

Chapter 27

44 • Leave!

And the words of Esau her eldest son were revealed to Rebekah in a dream and Rebekah sent to call her youngest son Jacob and said to him, "Behold, your brother Esau wants to take revenge on you and kill you. Now my son, obey my voice and get up and go to my brother Haran's Laban and take refuge at his house for a few days until your brother's anger turns away and he no longer has anger against you and forget everything you did, so I'll send you back from there.
And Jacob said, "I'm not afraid, if he wants to kill me, I'll kill him. But she said to him: "Do not leave me without my 2 sons in one day.
He answered, "Behold, you know that my father has become old and can not see, for his eyes are weak, and if I leave him it will be evil in his sight; if I leave him and go away from you, my father will be angry and he will curse me - I will not go, but if he sends me then I will go. And Rebekah said to Jacob, "I will go talk to him and he will send you away."
And Rebekah went and said to Isaac, "I hate my life because of the two daughters of Heth that Esau took for women, and if Jacob takes a wife among the daughters of the land like these, why should I live? more, because the girls of Canaan are bad.
And Isaac called Jacob and blessed him, and warned him, saying, "Do not take a wife from among the daughters of Canaan. Arise and go to Mesopotamia, in the house of Bethuel, your mother's father, and take a wife from the daughters of Laban, your mother's brother. And Almighty God bless you and increase you and multiply you so that you become a company of nations and give you the blessings of my father Abraham to you and your seed after you so that you inherit the land of your stays and the whole land that God granted to Abraham. Go in peace, my son!
And Isaac sent Jacob away, and went to Mesopotamia to Laban the son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's mother.
And it happened after Jacob went to Mesopotamia, Rebekah's spirit was overwhelmed after her son, and she cried.
And Isaac said to Rebekah, "Sister, do not weep for Jacob my son, for he is gone in peace, and he will return in peace. The Highest God will preserve him from all evil and will be with him, because He will not abandon him in all his days, for I know that his ways will be prosperous in all things where he will go until he return in peace and we will see him in peace. Do not be afraid of him my sister, because he is on the right path and he is a perfect man and he is faithful and he will not perish. Do not Cry ! And Isaac comforted Rebekah about his son Jacob and blessed him.

44 • Bethel

And Jacob went from the well of the oath to Haran in the first year of the second week of the 44th jubilee, and he came to Luz to the mountains of Bethel on the new moon of the first month of this week, and he came to the place and turned on the WEST side of the road that night and slept there, for the sun had set. And he took one of the stones from the place and lay down under the tree, for he was traveling alone and he slept and he dreamed that night and here, a ladder placed on the earth and its top reached the sky and here, the The angels of the Lord went up and down, and behold, the Lord stood upon it, and spoke to Jacob, saying, "I am the Lord God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac. The land where you lie, to you I will give it and your seed after you. And your seed will be like the dust of the earth and you will increase to the WEST and EAST, NORTH and SOUTH, and in you and your seed will be blessed all the families of the nations. And behold, I will be with you and keep you wherever you go, and I will bring you back again to this land in peace, for I will not leave you until I do all that I have told you.
And Jacob arose from his sleep and said: Truly this place is the house of the Lord and I did not know it. And he was afraid and said, This is a terrible place that can not be other than the house of God and this is the gateway to heaven.
And Jacob got up very early in the morning and took the stone that he had put under his head and placed it as a pillar sign and he poured oil on the top and he called this place Bethel, but the name of the place was Luz first.
And Jacob swore an oath unto the Lord, saying, If the Lord is with me, and keep me in this way where I go, and give me bread to eat, and a garment to dress me, that I may return to my father's house, peace ; then the Lord will be my God and this stone which I have placed as a pillar in this place as a sign will be the house of the Lord, and of all that you will give me my God, I will give you a 10th.

Chapter 28

44 • Laban in Mesopotamia

And he continued his journey and arrived in the land of the East at Laban Rebekah's brother and he was with him and served him for Rachel his daughter, 1 week [years]. And in the first year of the third week, he said: - Give me my wife for whom I served you 7 years. And Laban said to Jacob, "I will give you your wife. And Laban made a feast, but he took his elder daughter Leah, and gave it to Jacob for wife, and Zilpah his servant servant, and Jacob did not know it, for he thought that she was Rachel. And he came into her and here she was Leah and Jacob was angry with Laban and said to him: - Why did you act like that with me? Did not I serve you for Rachel and not for Leah? Why did you cheat on me? Take your daughter and I will leave, because you have acted badly with me. Jacob loved Rachel more than Léah, because Léah's eyes were weak but her form was fine, but Rachel had beautiful eyes and a good and very beautiful shape.

44 • Léah & Rachel

And Laban said to Jacob: - It is not customary in our country to give the youngest before the eldest and it is not right to do that, because here it is ordered and written in the celestial tablets that no one must give his youngest daughter before the oldest, but the oldest will be given first and after her the youngest. And the man who does that, they will place a fault against him in the sky and no one is justified to do this thing, because his action is bad before the Lord.
And you, command the children of Israel that they must not do this thing; do not let them take or give the youngest before they gave the oldest, because it's very nasty.
And Laban said to Jacob, "Let the seven days of feasting pass for this one, and I will give you Rachel, and you serve me another seven years; my sheep as you did the week before.
And on the day when the seven days of celebration were spent, Laban gave Rachel to Jacob for another seven years, and he gave Bilhah to Rachel, Zilpah's sister servant, and served another seven years for Rachel. because Leah had been given him for nothing.

44 • Reuben

And the Lord opened the belly of Leah and she conceived. And on the 14th day of the ninth month in the first year of the third week, she bore Jacob a son and he called his name Reuben.
But Rachel's belly was closed, for the Lord saw that Leah was hated and Rachel loved.

44 • Simeon

And Jacob came again into Leah, and she conceived and bore Jacob a second son on the 21st day of the tenth month of the third year of this week, and he called his name Simeon.

44 • Levi

And Jacob came again in Leah and she conceived and bore him a third son and he called his name Levi to the new moon of the first month in the 6th year of this week and he called his name Levi.

44 • Judah

And again Jacob came into her and she conceived and on the 15th day of the 3rd month of the 1st year of the 4th week she brought him a 4th son and he called his name Judah.

44 • Dan

And about all this, Rachel envied Leah, because she did not conceive and she said to Jacob: - Give me children. And Jacob said, "Do I hold the fruit of your belly against you? Did I give up? And Rachel saw that Leah had borne four sons to Jacob, Reuben, and Simeon, and Levi and Judah, and said unto him, Go in Bilhah my maidservant, and she shall conceive and bring me a son. [And she gave him Bilhah his maid for woman.] And he went into her, and she conceived, and on the ninth day of the sixth month of the sixth year of the third week she bore him a son, and he called his name Dan.

44 • Naphtali

And Jacob came again to Bilhah a second time, and she conceived, and on the fifth day of the seventh month of the second year of the fourth week she brought Jacob another son, and Rachel called her name Naphtali.

44 • Gad

And when Leah saw that she had become sterile and no longer wore, she envied Rachel and she also gave Zilpah his servant Jacob to wife and she conceived and the 12th day of the 8th month of the 3rd year of the 4th week she bore a son and Leah called his name Gad.

44 • Asher

And he went to her again and she conceived and on the 2nd day of the 11th month of the 5th year of the 4th week she brought him a second son and Leah called his name Asher.

44 • Issachar

And Jacob came to Leah and she conceived and on the 4th of the 5th month of the 4th year of the 4th week she bore a son and she called her name Issachar and she gave it to a nurse.

44 • Dinah & Zabulon

And Jacob came again into her and she conceived and the 7th of the 7th month of the 6th year of the 4th week she carried 2 [children], a boy and a girl and she called the name of the boy Zabulon and the name of the daughter Dinah .

44 • Joseph

And the Lord gave thanks to Rachel and opened her belly and she conceived and at the new moon of the 4th month in the 6th year of the 4th week she bore a son and she called her name Joseph.
And in the days that Joseph was born, Jacob said to Laban, "Give me my wives and sons and let me go to my father Isaac, and let me build myself a house, for I have completed the years for which I am you have served for your two daughters and I will go to my father's house. And Laban said to Jacob, Stay with me for your reward; still feed my flock for me and take your retribution. And they agreed with one another that he should give him for his reward among the lambs and cubs, those born black and spotted and white; [Those] will be his retribution for all the flock taken away, stained and spotted and black, differently marked, and they again brought the lambs alike and all that was spotted were to Jacob and those who were not were at Laban . And the possessions of Jacob multiplied exceedingly, and he possessed oxen and sheep, and donkeys and camels, and servants and maidservants. And Laban and his sons envied Jacob, and Laban took back his sheep from him, and he watched it in bad intention.

Chapter 29

44 • We will go with you!

And it happened when Rachel gave birth to Joseph, Laban went to mow his sheep. As they were three days away from him, Jacob saw that Laban went to mow his sheep and Jacob called Leah and Rachel and gently told them that they should come with him to the land of Canaan. And he told them everything he had seen in a dream, even all that he talked to him about, that he should go back to his father's house, and they said, "In any place you go we'll go with you!
And Jacob blessed the God of Isaac his father and the God of Abraham the father of his father, and he got up and put in his saddle his wives and his children and took all his possessions and they crossed the river and came to the land of Gilead. But Jacob hid his intention from Laban and did not tell him.
And on the 21st day of the 1st month of the 7th year of the 4th week, Jacob turned [his face] to Gilead and Laban pursued him and on the 13th day of the 3rd month he joined him in Gilead Mountain and the Lord appeared to him in a night dream, because He did not allow to offend Jacob. And Laban spoke to Jacob, and on the 15th of these days Jacob made a feast for Laban and for all who came with him, and Jacob swore to Laban that day, and Laban also to Jacob that no one would cross Gilead Mountain to the other. in bad intention.

44 • Oath in Gilead

And there he piled up a testimony, and from that place is called The pile of testimony, from this heap.
And they called before the land of Gilead, the land of the rephaim, for it was the land of the rephaim and the rephaim were born [there]; Giants whose height was 7, 8, 9 up to 10 cubits and their habitation was from the land of the children of Ammon to Mount Hermon and the sieges of their kingdom were Karnaim and Ashtaroth and Edrei and Misur and Beon. And the Lord destroyed them because of the cruelty of their deeds, for they were very clever and the Amorites lived in their place, bad and sinful, and there is no one today who has fully realized all their sins and they did not have more life on the earth.
And Jacob sent Laban back to Mesopotamia, who went to the land of the east, and Jacob returned to the land of Gilead and on the 11th day of the 9th month he crossed the jabbok and on that day his brother Esau came to him and he reconciled with him then he separated from him on the land of Seir and Jacob lived in tents.
And in the first year of the fifth week of this jubilee, he crossed the Jordan and dwelt beyond the Jordan and grazed his sheep from the sea of the heap up to Bethsan and to Dothan and up to the Akrabbim Forest. And he sent his father Isaac all sustenance, clothing and food and meat and drink and milk and butter and cheese and some dates of the valley, to the tower of Abraham and his mother Rebekah also, 4 times a year, between sowing and harvesting and between autumn and [seasonal] rain and between spring and summer.
For Isaac had gone from the well of the oath and gone up to live in the tower of his father Abraham, apart from his son Esau, because in the days that Jacob was in Mesopotamia, Esau took for himself a wife Mahalath, daughter of Ishmael, and they gathered together all the flocks of his father and went up with his wives and dwelt on Mount Seir, leaving Isaac his father alone at the well of the oath. And Isaac went from the well of the oath and dwelt in the tower of Abraham his father in the mountains of Hebron, and Jacob sent all that he sent to his father and his mother at the appointed time, all they needed and they blessed Jacob with all their heart and with all their soul.

Chapter 30

44 • Rape of Dinah

And in the 4th month of the 1st year of the 6th week, he went up to Salem east of Shechem in peace and there they brought Dinah Jacob's daughter into the house of Shechem, son of Hamor the hivite prince of the earth, and he slept with her and defiled her while she was a little girl, a child of 12 years old. And he sought his father and his brethren to be given him for a wife, but Jacob and his sons were angry because of the men of Shechem, for they had defiled Dinah their sister, and they spoke to them with evil intent and falsely they deceived them. And Simeon and Levi came by surprise to Shechem, and did justice to all the men of Shechem, and killed all the men that were therein, and left not one man alive; they killed them all with torments because they had dishonored their sister Dinah, and behold, it does not happen again to this day that a daughter of Israel be defiled, for judgment is commanded against them in heaven so that all Shechemite men were destroyed by the sword, for they brought shame to Israel.

44 • That justice be done

And the Lord delivered them into the hand of the sons of Jacob, that they should be destroyed by the sword, and that righteousness should be done against them, and that it shall not be again in Israel, that the virgin of Israel be defiled.
And if there is a man in Israel who wishes to give his daughter or sister to a man who is of the seed of the Gentiles, he will certainly die and they will stone him with stones, because he brought shame to Israel and they will burn the woman on fire, for she has dishonored the name of her father's house, and she will be uprooted from Israel.
And do not let adultery or impurity find itself in Israel every day from generations of the earth, for Israel is sacred to the Lord, and any man who defiles [it] will certainly die, they will stone him with stones. For this was ordained and written on the heavenly tablets concerning all the seed of Israel; he who defiles [it] will certainly die and he will be stoned with stones. And to this law there is no limit of days and neither remission, nor any atonement, but the man who has defiled his daughter will be uprooted from the midst of all Israel, for he has given his seed to Moloch and is acting with impiety to the point of defiling that.
And you, Moses, command the children of Israel and urge them not to give their daughters to the Gentiles and not to take for their sons any of the pagans' daughters, for it is abominable before the Lord. For this reason that in the words of the law I wrote for you all the actions that the Shechemites did against Dinah and how the sons of Jacob spoke, saying, We will not give our daughter to a man who is uncircumcised, because that would be for us a reproach. And it is a reproach to Israel for those who live and for those who take the daughters of the Gentiles, because it is impure and abominable for Israel.
And Israel will not be free from its impurity if it has a wife of the pagans' daughters or if it has given one of its daughters to a man who is one of the pagans. And there will be plague on plague and curse upon curse, for all judgment of plague and curse will come if he does this thing or hides his eyes from those who commit impurity or from those who defile the Lord's sanctuary or those who who profane His sacred name, [then] the whole nation will be judged together for all the impurity and profanation of this man. And there will be no respect for anyone [nor of anyone's exception] and no handing of his hands of fruits and offerings and sacrifice to fire and fat, nor scent of sweet smell to accept that, for the the price of every man or woman in Israel who defiles the sanctuary. For this reason, I commanded you, saying, "Testify to this testimony in Israel, see how the Shechemites proceeded with their sons, and how they were delivered into the hands of the two sons of Jacob, who struck them with torture, and it was counted] for them in court and it is written for them in court.
And the seed of Levi was chosen for the priesthood and to be Levites so that they could do the service before the Lord, as we, continually, and that Levi and his sons would be blessed forever, for he was zealous to execute justice and Judgment and vengeance on all those who rose against Israel, and they thus inscribed themselves as a testimony in his favor on the heavenly tablets, in blessing and righteousness before the God of all.
And we memorize the righteousness that man carries out during his life at all times of the year up to 1,000 generations [will they inscribe it] and she will come upon him and his descendants after him who will have been inscribed on them heavenly tablets like a friend and a righteous man. I wrote for you all this matter and commanded you to tell the children of Israel that they should not commit sin, or transgress the ordinances, or break the covenant that was ordained for them, they must do it to be registered as friends. But if they transgress and act badly in their way, they will be inscribed on the heavenly tablets as adversaries and will be destroyed from the book of life and will be written in the book of those who will be destroyed and with those who will be uprooted from the earth.
And the day that the sons of Jacob smote Shechem, a scripture was written in their favor of righteousness and vengeance against sinners, and it was written as a blessing. And they brought Dinah their sister out of the house of Shechem, and they took captive all that was in Shechem, their sheep and their oxen and their donkeys, and all their capital and all their flocks, and brought them all to their father Jacob, who reproached them. to have passed the city with the sword, because it feared those who lived on the ground, the Canaanites and the perizzites. And the fear of the Lord was over all the cities that were around Shechem, and they did not rise up to pursue the sons of Jacob, for fear had fallen on them.

Chapter 31

44 • Judah & Levi

And on the new moon of the [7th] month, Jacob spoke to all the people of his house saying, - Purify yourself and change your clothes, let us go up and go to Bethel where I vowed to him the day when I flee from the face of my brother Esau, for He has been with me and brings me back to this land in peace. And separate from the foreign gods who are among you.
And they forsook the foreign gods and what was in their ears and what was on their necks and idols that Rachel stole from her father Laban, she gave everything to Jacob. And he burned them and smashed them to pieces, and destroyed them, and buried them under an oak tree in the land of Shechem.
And he went up to Bethel on the new moon of the seventh month and he built an altar where he had slept and he placed a pillar there and he sent word to his father Isaac and his mother Rebekah to come to him for his sacrifice.
And Isaac said, "Let my son Jacob come and see him before I die. And Jacob came to his father Isaac and to his mother Rebekah in the house of his father Abraham, and took with him Levi and Judah, 2 of his sons, and went to his father Isaac and to his mother Rebekah. And Rebekah departed from the tower in front of Jacob to embrace and clasp her, for her spirit was revived when she heard: 'Behold, Jacob thy son has come! And she kissed him. And she saw her 2 sons and she recognized them and said to her: - Are they your son my son? And she hugged them and kissed them and blessed them saying, "In you the seed of Abraham will become illustrious and you will prove a blessing on earth.
And Jacob went into the room where his father Isaac slept, and his 2 sons with him, and he took his father's hand and kneeling he kissed her and Isaac clung to the neck of his son Jacob and wept to his neck. And the darkness forsook the eyes of Isaac, and he saw the two sons of Jacob, Levi, and Judah, and said, "Are they your sons, my son, for they are like you? And he told her that they were really his sons. And you really saw that they are really my sons. And they approached him and he turned around and kissed them and hugged them together.

44 • Isaac Blesses Levi

And the spirit of the prophecy came down into his mouth and he took Levi by his right hand and Judah by his left. And he turned to Levi first and began to bless him first and said, "May the God of all, the true Lord of all ages, bless you and your children through all ages. And let the Lord give you to you and your seed greatness and great glory, and make all flesh and seed and seed come near to Him and serve Him in His sanctuary as the angels of the presence and the holy beings, like them [even], let the seed of your sons be for glory, greatness and holiness, and make them great in all ages. And they shall be judges and princes and rulers of all the seed of the sons of Jacob. They will speak the word of the Lord with righteousness and they will judge in all His judgments in righteousness.
And they will reveal My ways to Jacob and My ways to Israel. The blessing of the Lord will be given by their mouths to bless all the seed of the beloved. Your mother called your name Levi and she called your name precisely, because you will be united to the Lord and will be the companion of all the sons of Jacob.
May His table be yours and you and your sons eat it. And that your table is full in all generations and that your food is not lacking in all ages. May all those who hate you fall before you and all your adversaries be uprooted and perish. And blessed is he who blesses you, and cursed is every nation that curses you.

44 • Isaac blessed Judah

And he said to Judah, "May the Lord give you strength and power to crush all those who hate you. You shall be a prince, you and one of your sons, above the sons of Jacob. May your name and the name of your sons move forward and cross all lands and regions. Then the Gentiles will fear before your face and all nations will tremble [and all peoples will tremble].
In you will be the help of Jacob and in you will be found the salvation of Israel and you will sit on the throne of honor of your justice and there will be a great peace for all the seed of the sons of the beloved. Blessed is he who blesses you, and all who hate and afflict you and curse you will be cursed and uprooted and destroyed from the earth.
And turning around he kissed her again and hugged him and greatly rejoiced, for he had seen the sons of Jacob his son truly and he stood in front of his feet and falling down he knelt before him and he blessed them.
And they rested there with Isaac his father that night and they ate and drank with joy. And he slept the two sons of Jacob, one in his right hand and the other on his left, and he was counted against him. And Jacob told his father all the night, how the Lord had shown him great mercy and how He [did] prosper in all his ways and protected him from all evil. And Isaac blessed the God of his father Abraham who had not held His mercy and justice to the sons of His servant Isaac. And in the morning Jacob said to his father Isaac the vow he had made to the Lord and the vision he had seen; that he had built an altar and that everything was ready to make the sacrifice before the Lord as he had sworn and that he had come to place it on a donkey.
And Isaac said to Jacob his son, "I am not able to go with you, for I am old and can not bear the journey. Go in peace my son, because I am 165 years old today, I am no longer able to travel. Put your mother [on a donkey] and go with you. And I know my son that you came for me and that day is blessed by which you saw me alive and I too saw you my son; that you prosper and fulfill the vow that you have sworn, and take nothing away from your wish, for you will be called to the account that touches the vow. Now hurry to realize it and be approved by who did all things, to whom you swore your vow. And he said to Rebekah, "Go with Jacob your son! And Rebekah went with Jacob his son and Deborah with her, and they went to Bethel.
And Jacob remembered the prayer by which his father had blessed him and his sons Levi and Judah and he rejoiced and blessed the God of his fathers Abraham and Isaac and he said: - Now I know what a hope is eternal and my sons also before the God of all. And this is ordained concerning the two, and they wrote it as an eternal testimony to them on the heavenly tablets when Isaac blessed them. And he lived in Bethel that night.

Chapter 32

44 • Levi, priest of the Highest

And Levi dreamed that they had ordained him and made him the priest of the Highest God, he and his sons forever, and he awoke from his sleep and blessed the Lord.
And on the 14th of this month, in the morning, Jacob got up early and he tithed all that he brought with him, man and cattle together, gold and everything and clothing together, yes, he gave the 10th of all.
And in those days Rachel became pregnant with her son Benjamin.
And Jacob counted his sons upward, and Levi fell into the portion of the Lord, and his father dressed him in priestly apparel and filled his hands. And on the 15th of that month he brought on the altar 14 oxen among the cattle and 28 rams and 49 sheep and 7 lambs and 21 young goats as an offering to the fire on the altar of sacrifice, a pleasant sweet smell before God. This was his offering as a result of the vow he had sworn he would give a 10th with their fruit offerings and their drink offerings, and when the fire consumed them, he burned incense on fire over the fire and an offering of thanks for 2 oxen and 4 rams and 4 sheep, 4 goats and 2 year old sheep and 2 goats cubs; and he did this daily for seven days.

44 • Completed wish

And there he and all his sons and his men ate joyfully for seven days, and they blessed and thanked the Lord who had completely delivered him from his tribulation and he fulfilled his vow. And he took the tithe of all pure animals and made a sacrifice in the fire, but he did not give impure animals to Levi his son and gave him all the souls of men.
And Levi took charge of the priesthood service in Bethel before Jacob his father rather than his 10 brothers and there he was a priest and Jacob fulfilled his vow, he tithed on the tithe of the Lord and sanctified it, and it became sacred before Him. And for this reason, he is ordained on the heavenly tablets as a law for tithing on the tithe of eating before the Lord, from year to year, at the place that is chosen where His name will dwell, and to this law he there is no limit of days forever.
This ordinance is written so that it will be from year to year to eat the 2nd tithe in front of the Lord at the place that has been chosen and there will be nothing from this year to the following year. For in his year the seed will be eaten until the days of assembly of the seed of the year and the wine until the days of wine and oil until the days of his season. And that all that remains there and becomes old and that it is considered polluted and that it is burned with the fire, because it is impure. And behold, let them eat together in the sanctuary, but let it not be allowed to become old. And all the tithe of oxen and sheep shall be holy unto the Lord, and shall return to the priests who shall eat it before him from year to year, for, behold, it is ordained and engraved concerning the tithe on the tablets of heaven.

44 • Israel and not Jacob

And the next night, on the 22nd day of this month, Jacob decided to build this place and to surround the court with a wall and to sanctify it and make it forever sacred to him and his children after him. And the Lord appeared to him by night and blessed him and said to him, "Your name shall not be called Jacob, but will Israel call your name?"
And he said to him again, "I am the Lord who created the heavens and the earth, and I will increase you and multiply you exceedingly, and kings will come out of you, and they will judge wherever the feet of the children of men have walked. And I will give to your seed all the earth that is under heaven, and they will judge the nations according to their will, and after that they shall take possession of all the earth, and inherit it for ever.

44 • Seven tablets

And He finished speaking with him and rose from him. And Jacob looked until He ascended into heaven and saw in this night vision, an angel came down from heaven with 7 tablets and He read them and knew all that was written on it, what would happen to him and his sons through the ages and He showed him all that was written on the tablets and said to him: - Do not build at this place and do not make it an eternal sanctuary and do not live there, because it does not is not the place. Go to the house of Abraham your father and live with your father Isaac until the day of your father's death, because in Egypt you will die in peace and you will be buried in this land with honor in the sepulcher of your fathers with Abraham and Isaac. Do not be afraid, because as you have seen and read, behold, all this will be, and write all that you have seen and read. And Jacob said, "Lord, how can I remember all that I have read and seen? And He said to her, "I will bring all things to your memory. And He departed from him and he awoke from his sleep and he remembered everything he had read and seen and he wrote all the words he had read and seen. And he celebrated another day there, and he sacrificed there according to all that he sacrificed the previous days, and called it the name Addition, for that day was added to the days that he called the feast.
And so it was obvious that it was and was written on the heavenly tablets when it was revealed to him that he had to celebrate that and added it to the 7 days and his name was called Addition because he was inscribed among the days of the feast according to the number of days of the year.

44 • Death of Deborah

And in the night, on the 23rd of this month, Rebekah's nurse Deborah died and they buried him beneath the city under the oak of the river and he called the name of this place The Deborah River, and the Oak, The Oak mourning Deborah. And Rebekah departed and went back to her house to her father, and Jacob sent rams and sheep and goats by his hands to prepare a meal for his father as he loved. And he accompanied his mother and then went to the land of Kabratan and lived there.

44 • Benjamin

And the night of the 11th day of the 8th month of the 1st year of the 6th week of this jubilee Rachel gave birth to a son and called his name Son of my suffering, because she suffered giving birth to her, but her father called her name Benjamin .

44 • Rachel's death

And there Rachel died and was buried in the land of Ephrath whose name is Bethlehem and Jacob builds a pillar on Rachel's grave on the road above her grave.

Chapter 33

44 Ÿ Reuben defiled me

And Jacob went and lived in the south of Magdaladraef and on the new moon of the tenth month he went to his father Isaac, he and his wife Leah.
And Reuben saw Bilhah Rachel's maid, his father's concubine, bathing in the water at a secret place and he loved her. And he hid himself at night and entered the house of Bilhah [the night] and he found her alone asleep in a bed in his house and he lay down with her and she woke up and saw, and behold, Reuben was lying with she and she undid the edge of her blanket and grabbed it and cried out seeing it was Reuben, and she was ashamed for him and took his hand off him and he ran away and she lamented extremely because of this thing and does not tell anyone.
And when Jacob came back and looked for her, she said to him: - I am not clean for you, because I was defiled vis-à-vis you, because Reuben defiled me and went to bed with me in the night when I was asleep and I did not find out until he lifted my skirt and slept with me. And Jacob was extremely angry with Reuben, for he had slept with Bilhah, for he lifted up his father's skirt, and Jacob did not come near him because of Reuben who had defiled her.
And so for every man who will have lifted his father's skirt, his action is extremely bad, for he is abominable before the Lord, and for this reason it is written and ordered on the heavenly tablets that a man should not sleep with the wife of his father and should not lift his father's skirt, because it is improper, they will certainly die together, the man who sleeps with his father's wife and the wife too, because they bring impurity on the Earth. And there will be nothing unclean before our God in the nation He has chosen for Him as a possession.
And it is again written a second time: - Cursed is the one who sleeps with his father's wife, because he discovered the shame of his father. And all the holy things of the Lord said, "Let it be so, let it be so!
And you, Moses, command the children of Israel that they keep this word, because it [involves] a death penalty and it is an impurity and there is no expiation ever to atone for the man who but he will have to be put to death, killed and stoned with stones and uprooted from the midst of the people of our God. For every man who does so in Israel is not allowed to live one more day on earth, for he is abominable and unclean. And that they do not say that Reuben is gratified with life and forgiveness after he slept with her father's concubine and she too when she has a husband and her husband, Jacob her father, is still alive because until this time there was no revealed ordinance nor judgment and law in their entirety for all, but in those days it [was revealed] a law of the seasons and days as an everlasting law for eternal generations. And for this law there is no limit of days and no expiation for that, but they must both be uprooted from the middle of the nation; they will be killed the day they commit this.

44 Ÿ

And you, Moses, write [it] for Israel to observe and apply according to these words and not to commit a sin of death, because the Lord our God is judge and does not accept any person and accept no present.

44 Ÿ Fornication, a sin of death

And tell them these words of the covenant so that they hear and observe and be on their guard by considering them and not be destroyed and uprooted from the earth, for impurity and abomination and contamination and pollution are all those who commit this on the earth before our God and there is no greater sin than the fornication they commit on earth, for Israel is a sacred nation for the Lord his God and a nation in heritage and a nation and priesthood for possession [in own]; that there is no such impurity in the midst of the holy nation.

44 Ÿ Names of the sons of Jacob

And in the third year of this sixth week, Jacob and all his sons went and lived in the house of Abraham near Isaac his father and Rebekah his mother. And these are the names of Jacob's sons:
the sons of Leah - the first-born Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulon; and
the sons of Rachel - Joseph and Benjamin; and
the sons of Bilhah - Dan and Naphtali; and
the sons of Zilpah - Gad and Asher; and
Dinah the daughter of Leah, the only daughter of Jacob.
And they came and bowed down to Isaac and Rebekah, and when they saw them they blessed Jacob and all his sons, and Isaac rejoiced exceedingly, for he saw the sons of Jacob his youngest son, and he blessed them.

Chapter 34

44 Ÿ Seven kings against Jacob & his sons

And in the 6th year of this week of the 44th Jubilee, Jacob sent his sons to graze their sheep in the pastures of Shechem and his servants with them. And the 7 kings of the Amorites gathered together against them to kill them, hiding behind the trees and taking their livestock in loot.
And Jacob, Levi, Judah and Joseph were in the house with their father Isaac, because his spirit was downcast and they could not leave him and Benjamin being the youngest and for that reason remained with his father.
And then came the king of Taphu and the king of Aresa and the king of Seraghan and the king of Selo and the king of Gaas and the king of Bethoron and the king of Maanisakir and all those who lived in those mountains [and] who lived in the woods on the land of Canaan. And they said this to Jacob, saying, "Behold, the kings of the Amorites have encircled your sons, and have plundered their flocks.
And he arose from his house, he and his three sons and all the servants of his father and his own servants, and he went against them with 6,000 men who carried swords and he struck them in the pastures of Shechem and pursued those who were fleeing and killed them with the edge of the blade and he killed Aresa, Taphu, Saregan, Selo, [Amanisakir] and Gaas and he recovered his flocks. And he prevailed over them and imposed on them a tribute for them to pay him a tribute of 5 fruits of their land, and he built Robel and Tamnatares and he returned in peace and made peace with them and they became his servants until the day he and his sons went to Egypt.

44 • 10th day of the 7th month

And in the seventh year of this week, he sent Joseph from his house to the land of Shechem to inquire into the well-being of his brethren, and he found them in the land of Dothan. And they treated him treacherously and formed a conspiracy against him to kill him, but changing their minds they sold him to the Ishmaelite merchants who took him to Egypt and sold him to Potiphar, Pharaoh's eunuch, chef of the cooks, priest of the city from Elew.
And the sons of Jacob slain a young one, and soaked Joseph's vesture in the blood, and sent [him] to Jacob their father on the tenth day of the seventh month. And he cried all night, because they had told him in the night and he became feverish as he was crying for his dead and he said: - A bad beast devoured Joseph and all the members of this house [cried with him that day and they were afflicted and scorned with him all that day. And his sons and daughter arose to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted for his son. And on that day Bilhah heard that Joseph was dead and she died crying and she lived in Qafratel, and Dinah her daughter also died after Joseph died. And there came 3 mournings on Israel in 1 month.
And they buried Bilhah near Rachel's grave and her daughter too, they buried them there. And they fell asleep one year for Joseph, and did not cease; for he said, "Let me go into the earth, to mourn my son. For this reason, the children of Israel are ordered to grieve in this day the news of Joseph who made his father Jacob cry and that they must make atonement for them, once a year, with a young man. goat, the 10th of the 7th month for their sins, as they had affected their father's affection concerning Joseph his son.
And this day was ordained that they be grieved for their sins and for all their transgressions and for all their mistakes so that they could clean themselves up on this day, once a year.
And when Joseph perished, the sons of Jacob took for themselves women:
The name of Reuben's wife is Ada, and the name of Simeon's wife is Adlbaa, a Canaanite, and the name of Levi's wife is Melka, daughters of Aram, of the seed of the sons of Terah, and the name of the wife of Judah - Betasuel, a Canaanite, and the name of the wife of Issachar - Hezaqah, and the name of Zabulon 's wife - Niiman, and the name of the wife of Dan - Egla, and the name of the wife of Naphtali - Rasuu, of Mesopotamia, and the name of the wife of Gad - Maka, and the name of the wife of Asher - Ijona, and the name of the wife of Joseph - Asenath the Egyptian, and the name of Benjamin's wife - Ijasak. And Simeon repented and took a second wife of Mesopotamia as his brothers.

Chapter 35

45 • Rebekah's words before his death

And in the first year of the first week of the 45th jubilee, Rebekah called Jacob her son and commanded him concerning his father and concerning his brother that he should honor them every day of his life. And Jacob said, "I will do all that you command me, because it will be an honor and a pride for me and a justice before the Lord to honor them. And you mother, also recognize that since I was born to this day, in all my actions and all that is in my heart, I always think of good about all. And how will I not do this thing that you command me to honor my father and my brother? Tell me mother, what perversity have you seen in me and I will turn away from it and may I be pityed?
And she said to him: - My son, I have not seen in you any evil in all my days but [only] righteous deeds. And now my son, I'll tell you the truth; I will die this year and I will not survive this year of my life, because I saw in a dream the day of my death; I will not live beyond 155 years. Here, I completed all the days of my life that I had to live. And Jacob laughed at his mother's words, because her mother had told her that she had to die - she was sitting opposite to him and in possession of her strength and she was not infirm of her strength because she was going and came and saw, and his teeth were strong, and no evil touched him all the days of his life. And Jacob said to him, "Mother, I will be blessed if my days come near the days of your life and my strength remains with me as your strength - you will not die, for you are joking with me about your death.

45 • Make Esau swear!

And she went to Isaac and said to him, "I ask you a request; make Esau swear that he will not strike Jacob, or pursue him by adversity, for you know Esau's thoughts, they are perverse from his youth and there is no good in him, because he wants to kill him after my death. And you know all that he has done since his brother Jacob went to Haran to this day, as he abandoned us with all his heart and hurt us, the flocks he took for himself and Withdrew all your possessions before your face. And when we implored and solicited him for what was ours, he acts like a man who had pity on us. He is bitter against us because you have blessed Jacob the perfect and just son, for there is no evil but good in him, and since he has returned from Haran to this day, he has not we stole nothing, because he always brought us all things in his season and rejoiced with all his heart when we took from his hands and he blessed us and did not withdraw from us since he returned from Haran to this day and he stays permanently with us at home honoring us.
And Isaac said to him, "I also know and see the deeds of Jacob who is with us, how with all his heart he honors us, but before I loved Esau more than Jacob, for he was my firstborn, but now I love Jacob more than Esau, for he has done evil deeds several times and there is no righteousness in him, for all his ways are unjust and violent [and there is no righteousness around him] . And now my heart is troubled because of all his deeds, and neither he nor his seed will be safe, for they are the ones that will be destroyed from the earth and will be uprooted from beneath the sky, for he has abandoned the God of Abraham and follow his wives, according to their impurity and according to their error, he and his children, and you oblige me to make him swear that he will not kill Jacob his brother: even if he swore he will not bind himself to this. oath and it will not do any good but harm only. But if he wishes to kill Jacob his brother, in the hands of Jacob will he be delivered and he will not escape from his hands [because he will fall into his hands]. And do not be afraid about Jacob, because Jacob's guardian is tall and mighty and honored and praised more than Esau's guardian.
And Rebekah sent to call Esau and he came to her and she said to him: - I have a request my son to make you and promise me to do it my son. And he said, "I will do all that you tell me, and I will not refuse your request. And she said to him: - I ask you that the day that I die to take me and bury myself near Sarah, the mother of your father, and to love you and Jacob, each other of a love mutual and only that no one wishes to do evil against the other, for [so] you will prosper my sons and be honored in the midst of the earth and no enemy will rejoice over you and you will be a blessing and a grace in the eyes of everyone who loves you.
And he said, "I will do all that you have said to me, and I will bury you on the day of your death near Sarah my father's mother, as you wish, with her bones near your bones. And Jacob my brother, I will love him over all flesh, for I have no brother but him alone on the earth and it is not a great merit for me to love him because he is my brother and we were woven together in your body and went out together from your belly. And if I do not like my brother, who will I love?
And I beg you to exhort Jacob about me and my sons, because I know he will certainly be king over me and my sons, because the day that my father blessed him, he did. put up and me down. And I swear to you that I will love him and not desire evil against him all the days of my life but only good. And he swore to her about this whole affair.
And she called Jacob before Esau's eyes, and gave her an order according to the words which she spoke to Esau. And he said: "I will do according to your pleasure, believe me that no evil will come out of me or my sons against Esau and I will be first in anything but love.

45 Ÿ Death of Rebekah

And that night they ate and drank, she and her sons, and she died that night at the age of 3 jubilees and 1 week and 1 year, and her 2 sons, Esau and Jacob, buried her in the double cellar near Sarah, the mother of their father.

Chapter 36

45 Ÿ Isaac's words before his death

And in the sixth year of this week, Isaac called his two sons, Esau and Jacob, and they came to him and he said to them, "My sons, I am going on my fathers' way to the eternal house where my fathers then bury me near Abraham my father in the double cellar in the field of Ephron the Hittite, of which Abraham bought the sepulcher to be buried there; in the sepulcher I have dug myself, bury me there. And I command you this my sons, that you should do righteousness and judgment on the earth, that the Lord may do unto you all that He has said that He should do to Abraham and to his seed. And love one another my sons, brethren as a man who loves his own soul, and act together on the earth and love one another as their own souls. And about idols, I command you and warn you to reject them and hate them and not to love them, because they are full of fraud for those who worship them and for those who kneel to them. Remember my sons of the Lord, the God of Abraham your father, and how I also worshiped him and served him in righteousness and joy to multiply and increase your seed by multitude, like the stars of heaven, and 'He will establish you on earth as a plant of justice that will not be uprooted in all generations forever.

45 Ÿ Do you like it?

And now, I make you swear a great oath, for there is no oath greater than that by The Name of the glorious and honored and great and splendid and wonderful and mighty who created the heavens and the earth and all things together that you will fear and venerate him, and that everyone will love his brother with affection and righteousness, and that no one will desire evil against his brother from now on and for ever every day of your life, so that you will prosper in all your actions and do not be destroyed.
But if ever one of you plots evil against his brother, know that from now on he who plots evil against his brother will fall into his hand and be uprooted from the land of the living and his seed will be destroyed from under the sky. And in the day of trouble, of execration, of indignation, and of wrath, as He burned Sodom with devouring fire, so shall he burn his earth and his city, and all that is there, and it shall be blotted out of the discipline book of the children of men and will not be inscribed in the book of life but in the one that is used for the destruction and it will go into an eternal execration so that their condemnation is always renewed of hate and of execration and anger and torment and indignation and pestilence and sickness forever. My sons, I declare it to you and certify according to the judgment that will come on the man who wishes to wound his brother.
And he divided all his possessions between the two in that day and gave a larger portion to the one who was his firstborn and the tower and all that was there and all that Abraham had at the well of the oath. And he said: - This larger portion I give it to the firstborn.
And Esau said, "I sold Jacob and gave Jacob my firstborn; that it is given to him and I do not have a word to say about it, because it is his.
And Isaac said, "May a blessing abide upon you, my sons and your seed, on this day, for you have given me rest, and my heart is not afflicted with the birthright unless you act wickedly. about that. May the Most High God bless the man who acts righteously, he and his seed forever.

45 Ÿ Death of Isaac

And he finished commanding them and blessing them and they ate and drank together before him and he rejoiced because there was only one spirit between them and they left him and he rested that day and slept. And Isaac slept in his bed in the day rejoicing and he fell asleep eternal sleep and died 180 years.
He completed 25 weeks and 5 years and his 2 sons, Esau and Jacob, buried him and Esau departed and lived on the land of Edom in the mountains of Seir and Jacob lived in the mountains of Hebron, in the tower of the the land of his father Abraham's stays and he revered the Lord with all his heart and in accordance with the visible and consistent orders as he had divided the days of his generations.

45 Ÿ Death of Léah

And in the 4th year of the 2nd week of the 45th jubilee, Leah his wife died and he buried him in the double cellar near Rebekah his mother, to the left of Sarah's grave, the mother of his father, and all his son and her sons came with him to weep over his wife, and comforted him about him, for he lamented for her, for he loved her exceedingly after her sister Rachel died, for she was perfect and upright in all her ways and honored Jacob, and every day she lived with him, he was not afraid to hear a harsh word from her mouth, for she was kind and pacific and just and honorable. And he remembered all his actions that she had done during his life and he lamented for her extremely, because he loved her with all his heart and soul.

Chapter 37

45 Ÿ The sons of Esau at war

And the day that Isaac, the father of Jacob and Esau, died, the sons of Esau heard Isaac give the portion of the eldest to the youngest son Jacob, and were very angry, and they argued with their father, saying, Why did your father give Jacob the oldest portion and go over you when you are the oldest and Jacob the youngest? And he said to them, "Because I sold my birthright to Jacob for a little lentil broth the day my father sent me to hunt and catch and bring him something to eat and bless me; he came cunningly and brought my father to eat and drink and my father blessed him and put me under his hand. And now my father has made me and him swear that we will not maliciously plot against his brother and that we will continue in love and peace with each other with his brother and we do not corrode our ways.
And they said to him, "We will not listen to you to make peace with him, for our strength is greater than his strength, and we are more powerful than he. We will go against him and kill him and destroy him and his sons. And if you do not come with us, we will hurt you too. And now listen to us: - Let us send Aram and Philistia and Moab and Ammon, and choose for us men of choice who are fiery in battle and go against him and make war on him and exterminate him from the earth before he becomes strong. And their father said to them, "Do not go and fight against him, otherwise you will fall before him." And they said to him, "This is exactly your model of action from your mouth to this day, and you put your neck under its yoke - we will not listen to your words. And they went to Aram and Aduram to their father's friend, and with them they engaged 1,000 men of war, a man of war chosen. And from Moab, children of Ammon came with those who were engaged, 1,000 chosen men, and 1,000 chosen men of war from Philistia, and 1,000 chosen men of battle from Edom and horites, and men from Kittim war. And they said unto their father, Come with them, and bring them away; otherwise we will kill you.
And he was filled with anger and indignation when he saw that his sons forced him to go before [them] to lead them against Jacob his brother, but then he remembered all the evil that was hidden in his heart against Jacob his brother and he did not remember the oath he had sworn to his father and his mother that he would not plead any evil every day against Jacob his brother.
And despite all this, Jacob did not know they were going against him at war and he was crying Leah his wife until they approached the tower very close with 4,000 warriors and chosen men of war. And the men of Hebron sent to him said, - Behold your brother came against you to smite you with 4,000 saddles with the sword, and they carried shields and weapons. For they loved Jacob more than Esau, so they told him, for Jacob was a more liberal and compassionate man than Esau. But Jacob did not want to believe until they came very close to the tower. And he closed the doors of the tower and stood on the ramparts and spoke to his brother Esau and said: - Noble is the consolation for which you came to comfort me because my wife is dead. Is it the oath you swore to your father and still to your mother before they die? You broke the oath and you are condemned the moment you swore to your father.
And then Esau answered him and said: - Neither children of men, nor beasts of the earth have any oath of justice by which to make [a valid oath] that they would have sworn forever, but every day they plotted evil against each other and how to kill his opponent and rival. And there is no observation of the brother's bond with you. Hear these words that I declare to you! If the wild boar can change its skin and make its hair as soft as wool, or if it can push horns on his head like the horns of a deer or a sheep, or if the breasts would separate from themselves from their mother - then I would observe the brotherly bond with you, because you were not a brother to me. And if the wolves make peace with the lambs and thus do not devour them or do them violence, and if their hearts are towards them for good, then there would be peace in my heart towards you. And if the lion becomes the friend of the ox and makes peace with him and if he is tied to the yoke with him and digs with him, then will I make peace with you. And when the raven becomes white like the raza, then know that I have loved you and will make peace with you. You will be uprooted and your sons will be uprooted and there will be no peace for you.
And when Jacob saw that he was [thus] willing to hurt him with his heart and with all his soul to kill him, and that he had gone out like the wild boar that rushes on the spear that pierces it and kills it and He did not turn away from them, so he told his people and his servants that they had to attack him and all his companions.

Chapter 38

45 Ÿ Death of Esau

And after that Judah spoke to Jacob his father and said to him, "Father! Hold your bow and send your arrows and put the enemy down and kill the enemy and you have the power, because we will not hit your brother, because he is like you and he is like us, give him [this honor. Then Jacob stretched out his bow and sent the arrow and reached Esau his brother [at his right chest] and killed him. And again he sent an arrow and reached Adoran the Aramaic to his left chest and crossed it back and killed him. And then came the sons of Jacob, they and their servants, divided themselves into companies in the four corners of the tower.
And Judah went forth, and Naphtali and Gad with him and 50 servants with him on the south side of the tower, and they killed all that they found before them, and not a single one among them escaped.
And Levi and Dan and Asher left on the east side of the tower and 50 [men] with them, and they struck the fighting men of Moab and Ammon.
And Reuben and Issachar and Zebulun went to the north side of the tower and 50 men with them, and killed the Philistine combatants.
And Simeon and Benjamin and Reuben's son Enoch left on the west side of the tower and 50 [men] with them, and they killed 400 men of Edom and horites, strong warriors, and 600 fugitives and 4 of Esau's sons with them. and they left their father lying dead after he had fallen from the hill that is in Aduram.
And the sons of Jacob pursued them on the mountains of Seir. And Jacob buried his brother on the hill that is in Aduram and he returned to his house. And the sons of Jacob pressed the children of Esau hard on the mountains of Seir, and lowered their necks to become the servants of the sons of Jacob. And they sent to their father [to know] whether they should make peace with them or kill them. And Jacob sent word to his sons that they should make peace, and they made peace with them, and put a yoke of bondage upon them, that they should pay a tribute to Jacob and his sons forever. And they continued to pay tribute to Jacob until the day that he went to Egypt. And the sons of Edom are not left from the yoke of bondage that the 12 sons of Jacob imposed on them to this day.
And these are the kings that reigned in Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel [until this day] in the land of Edom; Balaq the son of Beor reigned over Edom and the name of his city was Danaba, then Balaq died and Johab the son of Zara de Boser reigned in his stead, then Johab died and Asam from the land of Teman reigned in his place, then Asam died and Adath the son of Barad who slew Midian in the field of Moab reigned in his place, and the name of that city was Abith. Then Adath died and Salman de Amaseqa reigned in his place, then Salman died and Saul de Raaboth [by the] river reigned in his place, then Saul died and Baelunan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead, then Baelunan the son of Achbor died and Adath reigned in his place, and the name of his wife was Maitabith, daughter of Matarat, daughter of Metabedzaab. These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom.

Chapter 39

45 • Life of Joseph in Egypt

And Jacob dwelt in the land of his father's stays in the land of Canaan. Here are the generations of Jacob. And Joseph was 17 years old when they took him to the land of Egypt and Potiphar, a Pharaoh's eunuch, the chief cook bought it and he placed Joseph on all his house and the blessing of the Lord came on the house about Joseph and the Lord made him prosperous in all he did. And the Egyptian committed everything to Joseph, for he saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made him prosperous in all that he did. And Joseph looked good and when his master's wife looked up and saw Joseph and she loved him and sought him to sleep with him, but he did not deliver his soul and remembered the Lord and his father's words Jacob, accustomed to read in the words of Abraham that no man should commit fornication with a woman who has a husband, for for him the death penalty is ordained in heaven before the Highest God and sin will be continually held against him in the eternal books before the Lord. And Joseph remembered these words and refused to sleep with her.
And she searched for him for a year but he refused and would not listen, so she kissed him and held him in the house to force him to sleep with her and shut the doors of the house to hold him back, but he left his garment between his hands and broke the door through to escape from his presence. And the woman saw that he did not want to sleep with her and calumniated him in the presence of his lord, saying: - Your Hebrew servant, the one you love, tried to force me to sleep with me, and this is arrived when I raised my voice and he fled and left his clothes in my hands when I held him and he passed through the door. And the Egyptian saw Joseph's garment and the broken gate, and he listened to his wife's words and threw Joseph into prison, where the prisoners imprisoned by the king were kept.
And he was there in prison and the Lord gave Joseph favor with the head of the prison guards and compassion for him, for he saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord was making all that he did prosperous. And he put all things in his hands and the head of the prison guards knew nothing of what was with him, for Joseph was doing everything and the Lord was improving him. He stayed there for two years and in those days Pharaoh king of Egypt was angry with two of his eunuchs, against the butler and the pastry chef, and he warned them in the house of the pastry chef, in the prison where Joseph was kept. And the captain of the prison guards appointed Joseph to serve them and served before them. And they both had a dream, the head waiter and the pastry chef, and they told Joseph and as he interpreted to them what was going to happen to them, that Pharaoh took over the head butler in his service and that he killed the [chief] baker as Joseph interpreted them. But the head butler forgot Joseph in prison even though he told him what would happen to him and did not remember to inform Pharaoh as Joseph had told him, because he forgot.

Chapter 40

45 • Joseph interprets the dream of pharaoh

And in those days, Pharaoh made 2 dreams in one night about a famine that was going to be on all the earth and he awoke from his sleep and called all the dream interpreters and magicians who were in Egypt and spoke to them about the 2 dreams but they were not able to explain them. And then the head butler remembered Joseph and spoke to the king and he brought him from prison and he declared his 2 dreams before him that these 2 dreams were one: 7 years will come [which will be ] fat on all the land of Egypt and then 7 years of famine as it has never been in all the earth, and said before Pharaoh: - And now that pharaoh appoints listeners all over the land of Egypt and that they keep the food in every city for fat years every day and there will be food for the 7 years of famine, and the land will not perish from famine because it will be severe.
And the Lord gave favor and grace to Joseph in the eyes of Pharaoh and Pharaoh said to his servants: - We will not find a man wise and discreet like this man, because the spirit of the Lord is with him. And he appointed him second in all his kingdom, and gave him authority over all Egypt, and brought him the second chariot of Pharaoh, and clothed him with garment of bondage, and put a chain of gold on his neck and [a herald] ] proclaimed before him: El, El wa abirer. He placed a ring on his hand and made him steward over all his house and magnified him and said: - I am taller than you by the throne only. And Joseph directed all the land of Egypt, and all the princes of Pharaoh, all his servants, and all who cared for the affairs of the king, loved him, because he walked righteously and he was without pride and arrogance, and he He had no respect for people and did not accept the presents, but he judged all the people of the earth in justice. And the land of Egypt was at peace with Pharaoh for Joseph's sake, for the Lord was with him, and gave him favor and grace in all his acts, before all who knew him, and those who had heard of him. And the kingdom of Pharaoh was well ordered and there was no satan, no bad person. And the king called the name of Joseph Sephantiphans and gave to Joseph the daughter of Potiphar, the daughter of the priest of Heliopolis, the chief cook.
And by the day Joseph was standing before Pharaoh, he was 30 years old [when he stood before Pharaoh] and Isaac died that year. And it happened when Joseph said the interpretation of these 2 dreams, according to what he had said 7 years ago fat all over the land of Egypt and the land of Egypt produced abundantly, a measure [produced] 1,800 Joseph collected the food in each city until they were full of corn and could no longer count and measure it because of its multitude.

Chapter 41

45 • Tamar

And in the 2nd year of the 2nd week of the 45th jubilee, Judah took for Er his firstborn a wife of Aram's daughters named Tamar, but he hated her and did not sleep with her, because he wanted to take a wife from the race of his mother and mother were daughters of Canaan, but Judah his father would not allow him. And this Er, the first-born of Judah was evil and the Lord killed him.
And Judah said to Onan his brother, Go into your brother's wife and do the husband's brother's duty with her, and raise a seed for your brother. And Onan knew that the seed would not be his [but] for his brother only and he went into the house of his brother's wife and spilled the seed on the ground and he was evil in the eyes of the Lord who killed him.
And Judah said to Tamar his daughter-in-law, "Remain in your father's house like a widow until Selah my son grows up and I will give you to him as a wife." And he grew up but Bedsuel Judah's wife did not allow him to marry his son Shelah. And Bedsuel Judah's wife died in the fifth year of this week.

45 • Judah sleeps with her daughter-in-law

And in the sixth year, Judah went to shear his sheep to Timnah. And they said to Tamar: - This is your stepfather going to Timnah to cut his sheep. And she took off her widow's clothes and put on a veil and disguised herself and sat at the doorway to the Timnah road. And as Judah passed by, he found her and thought she was a prostitute and he said to her, "Let me go to you. And she said to him: - Come in. And he entered. And she said to him: - Give me my salary. And he said to her, "I have nothing in my hand except my ring on my finger, my collar, and my staff in my hand. And she said to him, "Give them to me until you send my wages. And he said to her: "I'm going to send you a little goat. And he gave them to her, and she conceived by him. And Judah went with her sheep and went to her father's house.
And Judah sent a little goat by the hand of his shepherd, an adullamite, and he did not find it and asked the people of the place saying, - Where is the prostitute who was there? And they said to him, "There is no prostitute with us. And he went back and informed him and told him that he did not find it: I asked the people of the place and they told me there was no prostitute here. And he said, "Let her keep them before we become an object of derision. And when she had completed three months, it was clear that she was expecting a child and they said to Judah: - This is Tamar your daughter-in-law is pregnant by prostitution. And Judah went to his father's house and said to his father and his brethren, "Bring her and burn her, for she has committed the unclean thing in Israel. And it came to pass when they brought her to burn her, and she sent to her father-in-law the ring, and the collar, and the staff, saying, "Discern who these are, for from him I am expecting a child." And Judah came to know and said, "Tamar is fairer than me, so do not burn her. And for this reason, she was not given to Shelah and he did not approach him anymore and after that in the 7th year of the 2nd week she brought 2 sons, Perez and Zerah.
And it was then that the seven years of abundance that Joseph spoke to Pharaoh were completed.
And Judah understood that the act he had done was wrong, because he had slept with his daughter-in-law, and he hated it in his eyes and understood that he had transgressed and gone astray because he had discovered the petticoat of his son. Then he began to lament before the Lord and to beg because of his transgression. And we told him in a dream that it was forgiven him, for he had begged seriously and lamented and did not do it again. And he was forgiven because he turned away from his sin and ignorance, because he had transgressed greatly before our God; that he who does this, and he who lies with his mother-in-law, let him be burned with fire, that he be burnt, for there is impurity and pollution upon them; that they are burned in the fire.
And you, command the children of Israel that there will be no impurity among you, because whoever sleeps with his daughter-in-law or mother-in-law has committed uncleanness; let the man who slept with her and the woman burn with fire, and I will turn My anger and My punishment away from Israel.
And for Judah, we say that her 2 sons did not sleep with her and for this reason her seed was established in the second generation and will not be uprooted, because in the uniqueness of the eye he went and sought to to know the punishment according to the judgment that Abraham commanded his sons - Judah sought to burn her by fire.

Chapter 42

45 • Famine of Jacob's time

And in the first year of the third week of the 45th jubilee, the famine began and came into the earth and the rain refused to give itself on the earth and nothing fell and the earth grew desolate, but in the land of Egypt there was there was food, for Joseph had gathered the grain of the earth during the seven fat years and had preserved it. And the Egyptians came to Joseph to feed him, and in the first year he opened the reservoirs where the grain was and sold it to the people of the earth for gold. And Jacob heard that there was food in Egypt and he sent his 10 sons who did not recognize him but he spoke to them and questioned them and said: - Are not you spies and are not you come to explore the approaches of the earth? And he gave them a warning, and after that he sent them away free except for Simeon who was detained and he sent his 9 brothers away and filled their sacks with corn and put their gold in their sacks but they did not know it, and he commanded them to bring their youngest brother, because they told him that their father was alive and their youngest brother. And they departed from the land of Egypt and returned to the land of Canaan and told their father all that had happened to them and how the lord of the land had spoken to them and seized Simeon until they bring Benjamin. And Jacob said, "You have deprived me of my children! Joseph is no longer and Simeon is no longer so, and you would also take Benjamin; your wickedness falls on me. And he said: - My son will not go with you lest he fall ill, because his mother gave birth to 2 sons; one has perished and that one too you want to take it away. If by bad luck he would take a fever on the road, you would force my old age to die of sorrow. Because he saw that their money had been put back in the bag of each man and for that reason he feared to send it.
And the famine increased and became severe on the land of Canaan and on all the lands except in the land of Egypt, because many children of the Egyptians had kept their seed from the time that they saw Joseph gather the seed together and put it in reservoirs and preserve it for years of famine and the people of Egypt feed on it during the first year of their famine. But when Israel saw that the famine was very severe on the earth and that there was no deliverance, he said to his sons, "Go away again and get food so that we do not die.
And they said, "We will not go, we will not leave unless our younger brother leaves with us. And Israel saw that if he did not send him with them, they would all perish because of famine. And Reuben said: - Give it to me in my hand and if I do not bring it back to you, kill my 2 sons instead of his soul. And he said to her, "He will not go with you. And Judah came near and said, "Send him with me, and if I do not bring him to you, let me blame him before you all the days of my life."
And on the first day of the month of the second year of this week, he sent it with them, and they went out to the land of Egypt with all who went there, and [they had] presents in their hands, nataf and almonds and turpentine and pure honey. And they came and stood before Joseph, who saw his brother Benjamin, who knew him, and said to them, "Is he your youngest brother? And they said to him, "It is he. And he said: - The Lord be merciful with you my son! And he sent him into his house and brought them Simeon, and he made a feast and they presented in their hands the present which they had brought him and they ate in front of him and he gave them all a portion but the portion of Benjamin was 7 times bigger than theirs. And they ate and drank and got up and went back to their donkeys. And Joseph plotted a plan so that he could discover their thoughts and see if thoughts of peace prevailed among them and he said to the administrator of his house: - Fill their bags of food completely and hand over their money for them in their baggage and my cup, the silver cup with which I drink, put it in the bag of the youngest and send them back.

Chapter 43

45 • Joseph finds his brothers

And he did as Joseph told him and completely filled their bags of food and put their money in their bags and put the cup in the bag of Benjamin and early in the morning they left. And it came to pass when they had departed from there, Joseph said to the administrator of his house,
- Pursue them, run and seize them, saying: You have put the evil for good, you have stolen the silver cup with which my Lord drinks! So bring me the youngest brother and bring him back quickly before I go to my judgment seat. And he ran after them, and spoke to them with all these words, and said to them,
"God forbids your servants to do this thing and steal everything from your lord's house. And for the money we found in our bags the first time, your servants brought it back from the land of Canaan, so how would we steal a tool? Here we are here and our bags, search among us in one of our bags and that the one on whom you will find the cup is killed and we and our donkeys will serve your lord. And he said to them,
- Not so! The man on whom I will find, he alone will take me as a servant and you will return in peace to your house. And as he was looking in their luggage, starting with the oldest and ending with the youngest, he was found in Benjamin's bag, so they tore their clothes and loaded their donkeys and returned to the city and went into Joseph's house and they all knelt on their faces on the ground in front of him. And Joseph said to them,
- You did the wrong thing. And they said:
- What will we say and how will we defend ourselves? Our Lord has discovered the transgression of His servants. Here we are the servants of our Lord and our donkeys too. And Joseph said to them,
- I too fear the Lord; so for you, go to your house, but let your brother be my servant, because you have done evil. Do not you know that a man takes pleasure with his cup, like me with this cup? And again did you steal it? And Judah says:
- O my lord, I ask you, let your servant say a word in my lord's ear: Your servant's mother bore 2 sons to our father - one went away and was lost and was not found and he alone remains of his mother, and your servant our father loves him and his life is also connected with the life of this [boy]. And if it happens that we return to your servant my father and that the boy is not with us, he will die and we would bring the death of our father by sorrow. Now let me rather be your servant instead of the boy as a guarantor for my lord and let the boy go with his brothers, for I am a guarantee for him in the hand of your servant my father, and if I bring him back no, your servant will bear the blame of our father forever.
And Joseph saw that they were concordant in benevolence to one another and he could no longer restrain himself and he told them that he was Joseph. And he conversed with them in the Hebrew tongue and fell on their neck and wept. But they did not recognize him and they began to cry. And he said to them,
- Do not cry over me, but hurry up and bring me my father and you see through my speaking mouth and through the eyes of Benjamin who sees. Because here is the second year of famine and there are still 5 years without harvest or fruit trees or crops. Come here quickly to you and your household so that you do not perish by famine and do not lament your possessions, because the Lord sends me before you to arrange things so that many people can live. And tell my father that I am still alive and you, behold, you see that the Lord made me as a father for Pharaoh and steward over his house and over all the land of Egypt. Tell my father all my glory and all the riches of glory that the Lord gave me.
And by the commandment of the mouth of Pharaoh, he gave them carts and provisions for the way and he gave them all kinds of colored clothes and silver. And to their father, he sent a garment and money and 10 donkeys carrying corn and he sent them away and they went to announce to their father that Joseph was alive and that he measured the corn of all the nations of the earth and that he was steward over all the land of Egypt. And their father did not believe that, because he was slanted in his mind, but when he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent, the vitality of his spirit came back and he said:
- It's enough for me if Joseph lives, I'll come down and see him before I die.

Chapter 44

45 • Go to Egypt!

And on the new moon of the third month, Israel went on a journey from his house, from Haran, and took the way to the well of the oath, and on the 7th of the month he offered a sacrifice to the God of his father Isaac. And Jacob remembered the dream he had seen in Bethel and he was afraid to go to Egypt, and while he was thinking of sending a word to Joseph to tell him to come to him and he would not go, he stayed there 7 days to see if he would have a vision to know if he should stay or leave. And he celebrated the feast of the harvest of the first fruits with the old grain, because in all the land of Canaan there was not a full handful of seed [on the earth], for the famine was on all the beasts and cattle and birds and also on the man.
And on the 16th day the Lord appeared to him and said to him, "Jacob, Jacob. And he said: - I am here. And he said to him, "I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and Isaac; Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you a great nation, and I will go with you and bring you back, and you will be buried in this land and Joseph will put his hands on your eyes. Do not be afraid, go to Egypt!

45 • Departure on the 16th day of the 3rd month

And his sons arose, and the sons of his sons, and they put their father and their possessions on the chariots. And Israel arose from the oath-well on the 16th of the third month, and went into the land of Egypt. And Israel sent Judah before him to his son Joseph to examine the land of Goshen, because Joseph had told his brothers that they could come and live there so that they would be near him. And it was the best [land] of the land of Egypt and close to him, for all [of them] and also for the cattle.

45 • Enumeration of the sons of Israel

And these are the names of the sons of Jacob who came to Egypt with their father Jacob: Reuben the firstborn of Israel, and these are the names of his sons Enoch and Pallu, and Hezron and Carmi 5;

Chapter 45

45 • Goshen Land

And at the new moon of the 4th month of the 2nd year of the 3rd week of the 45th anniversary, Israel went to the land of Goshen in the land of Egypt and Joseph went to meet Jacob his father in the land of Goshen and he fell to his father's neck and cried. And Israel said to Joseph,
- Let me die now that I have seen you and blessed be the Lord God of Israel, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac who has not withheld His grace and mercy towards His servant Jacob. It's enough for me to have seen your face while I'm still alive. Yes, true is the vision I saw in Bethel. Blessed be the Lord my God forever and ever and blessed is His name!
And Joseph and his brethren ate bread before their father and drank wine and Jacob rejoiced in boundless joy because he had seen Joseph eat with his brothers and drink before him and he blessed the Creator of all things that had preserved and preserved for him his 12 sons. And Joseph gave his father and his brothers as a gift the right to dwell on the land of Goshen and in Ramses and around the whole area he was managing before Pharaoh. And Israel and his sons dwelt in the land of Goshen, the best part of the land of Egypt, and Israel was 130 years old when he came to Egypt. And Joseph fed his father and his brothers and their possessions with bread as much as they needed for the seven years of famine.
And the land of Egypt suffered for famine, and Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh for food, and possessed the people and their livestock, and all things for Pharaoh. And the years of famine were fulfilled, and Joseph gave seed and food to the people of the earth so that they could sow [the land] in the eighth year, for the river had overflowed all the land of Egypt. Because in the seventh year of famine, she had not overflowed and had irrigated some places only on the banks of the river, but now she overflowed and the Egyptians sowed the land and she carried a lot of corn this year.
And it was the first year of the fourth week of the 45th jubilee when Joseph took the corn from the harvest, the fifth part for the king and left four parts for them as food and for sowing, and Joseph made an ordinance on the earth from Egypt to this day.

45 Ÿ Death of Israel

And Israel lived 17 years in the land of Egypt, and all the days that he lived were three jubilees, 147 years, and he died in the fourth year of the fifth week of the 45th jubilee. And Israel blessed his sons before they died, and told them all things that would come upon them in the land of Egypt, and he told them what would happen to them in the last days, and blessed them, and gave Joseph 2 portions in the earth. .
And he slept with his fathers, and was buried in the double cellar near Abraham, in the tomb which he dug for himself in the double cellar of the land of Hebron. And he gave all his books and the books of his fathers to Levi his son, so that he might preserve them and renew them for his children to this day.

Chapter 46

46 • Same agreement

And it happened after the death of Jacob, the children of Israel multiplied on the land of Egypt and became a great nation and they were of the same agreement of heart as a brother loved a brother and that each man helped his brother and they grew considerably and multiplied extremely during 10 weeks of years during the days of Joseph's life; there was no satan, no harm all the days of life that Joseph lived after Jacob his father, for all Egyptians respected the children of Israel all the days of Joseph's life.

46 • Death of Joseph

And Joseph died at the age of 110; he lived 17 years in the land of Canaan, for 10 years he had been a servant and for 3 years in prison, and for 80 years he was a sub-king, ruling all the land of Egypt and he died, as well as all his brothers and all that generation and before he died he commanded the children of Israel to carry his bones with them when they left the land of Egypt and made them swear about his bones, for he knew that the Egyptians would not leave them to take it away and bury it in the land of Canaan, for Makamaron, the king of Canaan, while he was living in the land of Assyria, fought the king of Egypt in the valley and killed him there, and he chased the the Egyptians even to the gates of Ermon but was not able to enter it, for another new king had become king of Egypt and he was stronger than himself. He returned to the land of Canaan and the gates of Egypt were closed and no one could go out and no one could enter Egypt.
And in the 2nd year of the 6th week of the 46th Jubilee, Joseph died and they buried him in the land of Egypt and all his brothers died after him.

47 • Burial of bones

And in the second year of the second week of the 47th Jubilee, the king of Egypt went to war with the king of Canaan, and the children of Israel brought back all the bones of Jacob's children, except the bones of Joseph, and they buried them in the field of the double cellar in the mountain.
And most of them returned to Egypt but a minority remained in the mountains of Hebron and Amram your father stayed with them.

47 • Beginning of slavery

And the king of Canaan was victorious over the king of Egypt and he shut the gates of Egypt and conceived a bad design against the children of Israel to afflict them and said to the people of Egypt: - Here are the people of the children of Israel has grown and multiplied more than us. Let us come and deal wisely with them before they become too numerous and afflict them with slavery before the war comes upon us and before they also fight against us, otherwise they would join our enemies and let them take our earth, for their hearts and faces are turned to the land of Canaan.
And he set over them heads of works to afflict them with slavery, and they built Pithom and Ramses, strong cities for Pharaoh, and they built all the walls and all the fortifications that had fallen in the cities of Egypt. And they had them served with rigor and the more they treated them badly, the more they grew and multiplied. And the people of Egypt hated the children of Israel.

Chapter 47

47 • Amram, father of Moses

And in the seventh year of the seventh week of the 47th Jubilee, your father departed from the land of Canaan.

48 • Birth of Moses

You were born in the 6th year of the 4th week of the 48th jubilee, it was the time of misfortune for the children of Israel; Pharaoh, king of Egypt, laid down an order for them to throw all the male children who were born into the river, and threw them there for seven months until the day you were born and your mother hid you during 3 months but they denounced it. Then she made you an ark and covered it with pitch and asphalt and placed it among the irises of the river bank and deposited you there for 7 days. And your mother came at night to breastfeed you and in the day Miriam your sister protected you from the birds. And in those days, Pharaoh's daughter Tharmuth came to bathe in the river and she heard your shouting voice and she told her maids to bring you and they brought you to her. And she took you from the ark and she had compassion on you. And your sister says to him:
- Will I go and call for you one of the Hebrew women to breastfeed and take care of this baby for you? And she [said] to him:
- Go ! And she left and called my mother Jochebed and she gave him her wages to feed you and then, when you grew up, they brought you to the daughter of Pharaoh and you became his son. Amram your father taught you to write and when you had 3 weeks they brought you to the royal court and you were 3 weeks of years in the court until you left the royal court and saw an Egyptian strike your friend who was children of Israel and you killed him and stole him in the sand. And on the second day of this, two of the children of Israel were arguing together and to find out who was in the wrong you asked him:
- Why are you hitting your brother? And he was angry and indignant and said:
- Who made you a prince and a judge on us? Do you think you kill me like you killed the Egyptian yesterday? And you were scared about those words.

Chapter 48

49 • Retreat

And in the 6th year of the 3rd week of the 49th Jubilee, you went to live on the land of Midian 5 weeks and a year.

50 • Mission of Moses

And you returned to Egypt in the 2nd year of the 2nd week of the 50th Jubilee.
And you know for yourself what He said to you at Mount Sinai and what the prince mastema wanted to do to you when you returned to Egypt. Did he not try to kill you with all his strength and deliver the Egyptians from your hand when he saw that you were sent to fulfill the judgment and revenge on the Egyptians? And I delivered you out of his hand, and did the signs and wonders for which you were sent to Egypt against Pharaoh and against all his house, and against all his servants and his people.
And the Lord did great vengeance upon them for the sake of Israel, and smote them with plagues of blood and frogs, lice and dog-dogs, and cunning insects of pustules and death of their cattle, and with a hail of stones - so He destroyed everything that grew for them and devoured by grasshoppers all that had been spared by the hail and the darkness and [death] of the first-born of men and animals. And the Lord took revenge on all their idols and burned them with fire.
And all things were done by your hand, that you may declare [these things] before they are made, and speak with the king of Egypt before all his servants and his people. And all was established according to your words: 10 great and terrible judgments fell upon the land of Egypt, that you might execute vengeance for Israel.

50 • Vengeance against slavery

And the Lord did everything for the cause of Israel and in accordance with His covenant that He made with Abraham and that He would take revenge on them because they dragged them into slavery. And the prince mastema rose up against you and tried to deliver you into the hands of Pharaoh and he helped the Egyptian wizards who rose up and formed before you the malice that we allowed them to do, but we did not allow the remedies of to be trained by their hands.
And the Lord overwhelmed them with evil ulcers and they were not able to stand up, so we destroyed them so that they could no longer execute a single sign.
And despite all these signs and miracles, the prince mastema was not put in shame because he took courage and cried to the Egyptians to pursue you with all the powers of the Egyptians, with their wagons and with their horses and with all the armies of the peoples of Egypt.
And I stood between the Egyptians and Israel, and delivered Israel out of his hand and out of the hand of his people, and the Lord brought them through the sea as a dry land.
And all the people whom He brought to pursue Israel, the Lord our God hastened them into the midst of the sea, into the depths of the abyss, under the feet of the children of Israel, as if the people of Egypt had threw their children into the river; He took vengeance on 1,000 of them, and 1,000 strong and active men were destroyed because of an infant of the children of this people whom they had thrown into the river.
And on the 14th day and the 15th day and the 16th day and the 17th day and the 18th day the prince mastema was attached and imprisoned behind the children of Israel so that he did not accuse them but on the 19th day we released them so that they help the Egyptians and pursue the children of Israel. And the Lord hardened their hearts and made them stubborn, and the plan was planned by our God so that He could beat the Egyptians and throw them into the sea.
And on the 14th day we bound him so that he could not accuse the children of Israel on that day when they asked the Egyptians for vessels and garments, silver vessels and bronze vessels, so as to strip them the Egyptians in exchange for the servitude by which they had forced them to serve and we did not take the children of Israel out of Egypt empty-handed.

The book of Jubilees Empty
MessageSujet: Re: The book of Jubilees   The book of Jubilees EmptySam 6 Avr - 13:29

Chapter 49

50 • 14th day 1st month

Remember the commandment that the Lord commanded you concerning the Passover, that you must celebrate it in its season on the 14th day of the first month, that you must sacrifice it before the night and that they eat it at night on the 15th evening at the moment of the sunset, for in this night - the beginning of the feast and the beginning of joy - you have eaten the Passover in Egypt while all the powers of mastema were released to kill all the firstborns of the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh to the firstborn of the captive maidservants to the mill and cattle.
And this is the sign that the Lord gave them: to every house on the lintels on which we saw the blood of a yearling lamb, in [this] house they were not to enter to kill but had to go through [above] that all who were in the house should be safe, because the sign of blood was on his lintels.
And the powers of the Lord did everything according to what the Lord had commanded them and they passed over all the children of Israel and the plague did not come upon them to destroy among them any soul of cattle or man or dog but the plague was very severe in Egypt, and there was no house in Egypt where there had been a death and weeping and lamentation.
And all Israel ate the flesh of the Passover lamb and drank wine, and glorified and blessed and thanked the Lord, the God of their fathers, and were ready to come out of the yoke of Egypt and the misery.

50 • The Passover lamb

And you, remember this day all the days of your life and observe it from year to year every day of your life, once a year on this day according to the whole law and do not postpone it by from one day to the next or from one month to the next, for it is an eternal ordinance and engraved on the heavenly tablets concerning all the children of Israel, that they must observe it every year in its day once a year, through all their generations, and there is no limit of days, because it is ordered forever.
And the man who is free from uncleanness and who would not come to observe him on the occasion of this day to bring an acceptable offering before the Lord and to eat and drink before the Lord on the day of this feast, this man who is pure and close will be cut off because he does not offer an oblation to the Lord in his fixed season, he will blame him. May the children of Israel come and observe the Passover at the time of his day fixed on the 14th day of the 1st month between the evenings, from the 3rd part of the day until the 3rd part of the night, because 2 portions of the day are given in the light and a third portion at night. This is what the Lord commanded you to observe between the evenings and it is not allowed to kill him during another time of the day but during the evening period until the 3rd part of the night and all that will remain of his flesh, starting from the third part of the night and before, that they burn it with the fire. And they will not boil it in water, nor will they eat it raw but roasted in the fire. They will eat it diligently, with its head inside and its paws, they will cook it on the fire and will not break any bone, because of the children of Israel, no bone will be crushed.
For this reason, the Lord commanded the children of Israel to observe the Passover at the appointed day and they will not break any bones, because it is a holiday and an orderly day and there will be no detour from one day to another, from one month to another, but on the day this feast is observed.
And you, command the children of Israel to observe the Passover through their days, every year, once a year at the appointed time and it will be like a very pleasant memorial before the Lord and no plague will come upon them to kill or strike in the year that they will celebrate passover in his season in respect due to his command. And they will eat it out of the Lord's sanctuary but in front of the sanctuary of the Lord.
And all the people of the congregation of Israel will celebrate it in its appointed season. And every man whose days are twenty years old and over shall eat of it in the sanctuary of your God before the Lord, for it is written and commanded that they should eat it in the sanctuary of the Lord.
And when the children of Israel come into the land that they must possess, in the land of Canaan, they will place the tabernacle of the Lord in the midst of the earth in one of their tribes until the sanctuary of the Lord be built in the country; let them come and celebrate the Passover in the midst of the tabernacle of the Lord, and kill it before the Lord from year to year. And in the days that the house will be built in the name of the Lord in the land of their inheritance, they will go there and kill the Passover in the evening at sunset in the third part of the day and they will offer blood at the threshold of the altar and lay his fat on the fire that is on the altar, and they shall eat his flesh roasted in the fire in the yard of the house which was sanctified in the name of the Lord. And they will not celebrate Passover in their cities, or in any other place except in front of the tabernacle of the Lord or in front of his house where His name dwells, and they will not turn away from the Lord.
And you, Moses, command the children of Israel to observe the ordinances of the Passover as it was commanded you. Tell them each year and the date of his days, and the feast of unleavened bread, that they may eat unleavened bread seven days [and] observe their feast and bring an oblation every day during these days. 7 days of joy before the Lord on the altar of your God. You will celebrate this feast with the haste with which you came out of Egypt until you entered the Shur desert, because on the beach of the sea you do it.

Chapter 50

50 • The universal rest

And after this law, I made known to you the days of rest in the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai; I taught you the rest of the earth on Mount Sinai and I taught you the years of jubilee years rest, but the year I did not tell you until you entered the earth that you will own.
And the earth will also keep its rest when they live there and they will know the year of the jubilee.

49 jubilees and 1 week Ÿ from Adam to freedom

For this reason I have ordained for you the years-weeks and the years and the jubilees: there are 49 jubilees of the days of Adam until this day and 1 week and 2 years. And there is still 40 years to come to learn the Lord's commandments until they pass over to the land of Canaan by crossing the Jordan River to the WEST.
And jubilees pass until Israel is cleansed of any fault of fornication and impurity, pollution and sin and error, and dwell in trust over all the earth, and there will be a Satan nor any demon, and the earth will be clean at that time forever.
And here are the commandments concerning rest - I wrote them for you, and all the judgments of his laws:
- 6 days you will work but the 7th day is the rest of the Lord your God. In this you will not do any work, you and your sons, and your servants and your servants, and all your cattle and the dweller who is also with you. And the man who will do some work there will die. Anyone who is abusing that day, whoever lies to [his] wife or whoever says that he is going to do something about it, that he is going to spend a day buying or selling it, and whoever brings water that he has not not prepared for him on the sixth day, and whoever takes any weight to carry out of his tent or out of his house will die. You shall do no work at all on the day of rest except that you have prepared for you on the 6th day as to eat and drink and rest and keep the rest of any work in this day and bless the Lord your God who brought you given a feast day and a holy day, and a holy kingdom day for all Israel. May this day be among their days forever, for great is the honor which the Lord gave to Israel so that they may eat and drink and be satisfied on this feast day by resting there from all their work which comes back to the labor of the children of men except to burn incense and to bring oblations and sacrifices before the Lord for days and for rest. The only work will be done on rest days in the sanctuary of the Lord your God so that they can atone for Israel by a continual sacrifice from one day to the other as a convenience memorial before the Lord to accept always from one day to another as you have been ordered. And any man that does any work or leave on an errand or plow [his] firm, whether in the house or other place, and whoever lights a fire or rides on any beast or travel by boat on the sea and whoever knocks or kills anything, or slaughters a beast or a bird or whoever catches an animal or a bird or a fish or whoever fasts or makes war during rest; the man who will do any of these things during the rest shall die, that the children of Israel may observe the rest according to the orders concerning the rest of the earth, as it is written on the tablets which He put in my hands so that I register for you the laws of the seasons and the seasons according to the partition of their dates. This completes the account of the partition of dates.
